"I was admitted to Henderson Hospital from the Emergency Room due to atrial fibrillation (afib). I went to the ER about 6 am and got a room about 1:30 pm. I was literally begging for water the whole time and would only receive small styrofoam 1/2 cups. After my Initial labs there was no reason not to get water. I was not fed lunch till 3 pm after repeated requests (the nurse brought me a gross cold sandwich though) and never got a water pitcher that day. My husband brought me bottled water from home. I was not given instructions on how to order food or given a kit with a toothbrush etc. I found this out when my second roommate got her welcome to the hospital treatment. It was so upsetting that I asked a nurse if I'd done something to upset them and receive ill treatment. Meals were inconsistent, I never knew when my next one would come. To be fair I was scheduled for a treatment on the morning of day 2 which was npo (fasting). The treatment was canceled however and I never got any food till after 1pm, again asking multiple staff and calling the cafe. There was no privacy. I knew my two roommates full names, dates of birth and medical conditions/history and they knew mine. My second roommate got a rapid response call on her first night there at 10:30 pm and I was asleep. My room was immediately filled with the team. The staff wheeled me into the hallway. The janitor cleaned her side of the room at 11:30 pm for a new patient to be admitted later. I was extremely distraught and could not go back to sleep. Finally at 2 am I asked for a benadryl for sleep and received it about 20 minutes later. The next day I developed extreme tachycardia which was detected by my heart monitor and my opinion is that it was caused by the stress/lack of sleep the night before. Nurse told me I had to stay in bed and ask for help with a bedpan. She told me to press the call button if my heart rate went to 120 even though I was being monitored remotely. Two hours later I pushed the call button for a bedpan to tell them the EKG monitor battery died. Waited 20 minutes and no one came. I took off EKG leads and Intermittent pneumatic compression anti-clot devices and went to the bathroom alone. After my 2:30 procedure I was returned to my room at 4:45 pm. No nurse came to check on me. I pressed the call button for ice and still no one came for 20 minutes. My husband went out and asked for ice and told them we didn't think the call button was working. It turns out the call button was unplugged from the wall. The day I went home I developed a blocked salivary gland which was probably due to my extreme dehydration on day 1 of my stay."
"I loved coming to this hospital. But i barely pay attention usually to the entrance. Let me tell you I was very disappointed when I came in with my aunt. And I had her waiting at the bench while i park my car. The level of such a neglected area. This is a hospital for God Sakes. You supposed to set up a example of cleanliness all of way around. I was pretty nasty. The entire walk way. See for your self. Service top notch. The best when it comes to Patients services. I can just imagine the other entrances around. How they are too."
"I've been to this hospital 3 times the past 2/3 years ( for other patients ) & the most recent I have to say was a bit disappointed. The first occurrence ( unfortunately forgot the Dr's name but he looks like Kang Sung from Fast & furious & he was working Day shift ) He is amazing ( little biased on my part ) but he truly is thought the whole time there! Second time around was a bit uneasy given a Caucasian girl since she can't act like a lady.. with red scrubs I am recalling maybe in radiology ? she was working during the day shift & has tattoos that are unpleasantly gross along w/ her attitude towards all patients when I had been observing her she was also in a altercation w/ a patient in the ER lobby seeking help and he ended up having to be escorted out by HPD. Ridiculous, as I would have been just as furious as him with having a medical " worker " like her try to assist me while she talks utter trash about patients to her posse in plain sight when I overheard even before the incident I witnessed. Other than her the Male Nurse was amazing. Third occurrence was GRAVE shift 2/2/24, Dr/Physician Kenneth Chang Do and Nurse who was a young lady with a septum piercing ( at check in ) which I noticed they placed new cubical right when you walk in for emergency check in instead of the front.. was great, patient, attentive & showed concern with the toddler patient! Muhammad who took the patients height/weight ( don't recall his position ) was funny without even knowing it or saying much but he had a straight face looked restless, but the way he called the patient with no words was just humorous it was the eye contact for me.. Honestly they deserve the Daisy award along with the Dr. in the 1st intro paragraph. HOWEVER, during this 3rd visit it was bothering how for the whole duration of the time there not one HC worker had bothered picking up gloves, multiple Sphygmomanometer's etc.. that was all over the lobby / entrance. The Filipina woman working in cubicle 4 next to Lovely who was in #3 was rude and her demeanor / approach. She was only nice to the other filipino couple waiting in the lobby and took her time to even walk up to them to speak and show concern she was just getting info / Insurace don't know her position.. Had it been anyone else they'd be offended with her approach and tone as if she's above them acting annoyed with her JOB. Wish the patient would have had lovely instead. The others were just sitting around doing god knows what I really don't know and can't say since I'm not an employee were just lingering around. I understand the stress and business there is for HCW'S but that's no excuse.. Treat the hospital like your home no place of business like that should have filth around..especially if its not even busy in the lobby was not "busy" till around 2:30 am. So about a whole hour not one person owned it. Side note: If you don't have the patience or morals to be in HC then QUIT if you're only in it for the money and cannot handle it without the capabilities to do your job or be a decent human being to others you're in the WRONG FIELD."
"The staff was super friendly. Everybody was very attentive to me and my needs. If I had no questions the nurses would still volunteer information which was very helpful because during the time I was there, my mind was all over the place. When I ran out of stock for my postpartum pads and wipes, they made sure to restock everything as well as the baby stuff. Again, everyone was so kind and friendly and reassuring, and no one pressured me to make any decisions as I was giving birth. Thank you so much for allowing me to stay with you guys and giving me the best possible experience I could’ve had during my stay there."
