"Kind compassionate care from all the staff. I appreciated Lindsay's (Nurse Practioner)professional diagnosis and help to get treatment started. I would use this facility again for sure."
"Don't go to this Hospital. I went there for an injury to my ribs due to coughing while traveling out of town. They didn't treat my injury, but admitted me to treat me for a mild case of pneumonia. After some sleep and I had my senses about me (up all night in pain with no sleep), I told them it was necessary for me to be there and that I was leaving. There was no immediate plan by the doctor to discharge me. As I discussed this with the doctor, he even agreed that I "had what I needed" to treat my mild pneumonia (I was already being treated for this by my doctor back home). They still would not issue an official discharge and refused to write a script to ease the pain and cramping in my ribs (which is what I came there for in the first place) since I was leaving "against medical advice". From my point of view, all they wanted was to bill my insurance for the most they could get, and they didn't even treat me for the reason I came to their hospital. Personally I feel that I was succered into an insurance racket and I got ripped off. I wish I could tell my insurance company not to pay them since they didn't do what I asked the to do."
"I went there the first time because of an abscess. The nurses, front desk staff and triage were great! Once I got a bed I saw a Dr. Phillip R. and right from the start, when he entered that room, I felt this feeling of negativity from him. He was immediately rude, sarcastic and downright nasty. He saw, from my file, that I was from Canada and visiting Arizona. He told me he would have to pack the wound, which he did with forceps, and it was incredibly painful. He didn't care about that! He packed the wound so hard that it shook my body on the bed. Then he told me I would have to go back to Canada to get the wound cared for. He packed the wound so much it split open! Now the abscess I had was worse. I had to return to the hospital a second time only to find out that this same doctor was there, the only doctor there and I had no choice because the wound was now infected. He had me so stressed out from the first time I started panicking. My blood pressure went to 197/135 and my heart rate was really high. I suffer from CPTSD, depression, anxiety and panic disorder and just hearing his voice in the hallway caused me such panic. When he entered the room and told me all the things I did wrong and when I told him the wound split after the packing he did he blamed me. Again he told me to go back to Canada. My blood pressure and heart rate were continuing to rise and the meter started sending off an alarm. The wonderful, amazing, sweet, kind and caring nurse named Evelyn was my angel that night and she told this nasty excuse for a doctor that she would pack the wound and he should give me a prescription for antibiotics, which I should have received at the first visit. She packed the wound and I never felt anything..She was absolutely awesome!! She helped me calm down and really took care of me. I could not praise this woman too highly. I was in a horrible state after seeing this doctor for the first time and was in pure panic when I saw him the second time. I would never go back to this place again! Now they are charging me over $500.00 despite me being so damaged from this experience. If you go there and get a Dr. Phillip R. go to another hospital."
"I believe I recieved excellent care at LaPaz Regional Hospital. I found the staff to be caring and informative. The gentleman who ran the CT scan did the best he could to accommodate my pain and still get the scan. The anesthesiologist told me what to expect and that is indeed what occurred. The nurse in preoperative called my husband for me. The surgeon and MD both explained what was wrong and the hoped for procedure. After surgery, I was well taken care of. It is a hospital and I was post surgery so there was pain and discomfort, but nothing that wasn't expected. I would especially thank Dr. Siaz and Dr. Ly for their paient explanations and also RNs Genesis and Cheyrl for their care and encouragement."
"We have had 2 good experiences with only minor problems. The care was thorough and great. Overall for a small town hospital, we got great care. Marked off 1 star because of the facility was a little dated and 2 employees were a little less than professional one was a nursing assistant and other was overnight doc and not one that gave us care. Update: after three trips to er, doctor ward made a snide comment that was the last straw. Whemy girlfriend past out he said " well good thing she was lying down"! Great bedside manner. Also maybe radiology needs to go back to school to read cat scans before you kill someone! GVR in Henderson NV figured it out with only 1 trip. The state of Healthcare in this country is a disappointment! Maybe if you had to give refunds for bad diagnosis or failure to do your job it would improve."
