Valley Lodge Motel

"I haven't stayed here, but I've visited briefly on several occasions. It's currently the only accommodation available in Elfrida as far as I know. From what I've been told, it's primarily used for long-term accommodation, as rentals in Elfrida are scarce. There are studio-style units at the front, and larger units with kitchenettes around the back. There is a laundromat on the street side of the building. It's located on the main street (Hwy 191), next door to the hardware store and across the street from the Family Dollar, so there can be quite a bit of traffic noise at times. Currently, the signage is such that you wouldn't know what it was unless you were looking really carefully for it. Cellphone reception is difficult to get in the building, but there are no landlines. It's under new ownership and management. It's had a bad reputation, but the new management is working to change that. Let's hope the new owners will make the much-needed repairs on the place. It's going to need a lot of work to bring it up to snuff. Currently, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're desperate, especially if you're traveling with children. I look forward to the day that I can change my rating to a lot more stars."

"on a recent bike trip, my bro in law and I landed in Elfrida. I highly recommend the Valley Lodge. Our room was clean, plenty of hot water, and a comfy bed. The owner and his son made sure we had what we needed. I would stay there again.. a haven for bicyclists. Also, two good places nearby for chow."
