Reviews of The Honey Baked Ham Company
"Ordered a quarter ham on Wednesday for pick on on Thursday, went to the store on Thursday at the chosen time to pick it up, and was told there was not a ham available for me. They did have the order in the computer, though. On the ordering website, there is the option of whether to pre-pay or pay in store. I chose to pay in store. Because of not paying in advance, a ham is not guaranteed to be there at the pick up time. I was told that unless the order is prepaid, then it is not an actual order. However, they were more than happy to sell me a half-ham, much larger that what I had "ordered". If "pay in store" on their website does not guarantee an order to be ready when you choose a time for pick up, then why is that option there? This is classic bait and switch, and they have been reported. So if you "order" from Honeybaked Ham, make sure you pay for it in advance so that you receive what you ordered, otherwise your "order" will not be there."
"I used to come to this honey baked ham at least once a week with my mom. We used to call in our order & pick it up on our way home because we live about 15 minutes away. It was never a problem to call ahead and order a sandwich to go & pick it up & pay for it once I arrived. I happen to be in the area and I thought it would be nice to get a sandwich today, but the woman that answered the phone said that they don't take call in orders and that whoever took the call in order before, shouldn't have taken it. I'm not sure why I was able to order 20 + times over the phone and now all of a sudden they don't take phone orders. So I went to the website to see if I could place an order there. I don't know why they would take an online order but not a phone order but whatever. So I attempt to make an order online and every time I go to put my payment information in, my phone browser freezes. And on top of that all they offer on the website for drinks are cans. I know they have a fountain there and I don't know why I can't order to go fountain drink. So they may get my business in the future if their website works. Or if they start taking phone orders again. Not everybody is good with using a website to make an order and some people live busy lives where they might want to order ahead, so they can pick it up on their way somewhere. I called to talk to the store since their website wasn't working to let them know that I wouldn't be placing an order since they refuse to take phone orders and their website makes my phone freeze. The woman seem to be completely fine with losing my business."
"The armed guard in front of the store made me laugh as I stood in line imagining a crew of professional bank robbers going from customer to customer telling them to put their phones and hams in the bag. "No die packs with mashed potatoes either!" On a serious note, the food is great and the employees did a good job of keeping the line moving as fast as they could. Also, if you pay online or over the phone, then you don't have to wait in line at all, I will do that next time."
"It was such a wonderful surprise that the Sunday before Thanksgiving, the store was open to fulfill orders. There were a lot of employees ready to help all the customers. As always, I picked up my bone-in half ham. I can't say enough about the taste and quality of the honey baked ham! Incredibly delicious, always a huge hit at our holiday table."
"So evidently the situation this year is the opposite from last year. People who ordered ahead have to stand in the Disneyland long line that’s a block long. Meanwhile walk in line is super short. So ridiculous. Get it shipped to your home instead. And if you really miss do a reservation, come earlier. 2pm line was half the size of 5pm line… i made the mistake of coming back later to see if there was a shorter line than my reservation time. Nope."
