Massey's Diesel & RV Repair

"I’m the transportation mgr at a private school in Chandler, AZ. I brought our 2011 Thomas bus into Massey’s to diagnose an oil leak. The female service advisor asked a tech to see if he could find the leak. The tech washed the engine area to clear the oil/dirt buildup. Within 30 minutes the tech tells me that he found the leak. The service advisor talks to me about the leak. I ask her, “What’s next? I need the bus by 3 PM” I came in at approx 9:30. She replies,”I have someone working on it.” I ask her where the waiting area is and she tells me it’s upstairs. I go upstairs with my laptop to do some work. I look at the clock and the time is 1:45. I looked out the window and saw the tech who found the leak. I ask him how much longer will it take. He replied, “They told me not to do anything.” I asked, “Why?” He said, “They told me they have to work up the quote and find the part needed.” Another service advisor enters the conversation. I told him that the other service advisor told me, “I have somebody working on it.” He responded by telling me that I must have misunderstood. I said, “I have not misunderstood. I was going by what I was told.” He proceeded to condescend by telling me, “Shops don’t work like that.” At that point I had been there over four hours. The first advisor apparently had left for the day and failed to update me beyond, “I have someone working on it.” I told the second advisor that I needed to get back to Chandler. He told me he had to get the bill together. 20 minutes later he asked me to come into the office to pay the bill. When I asked him about the quote he replied, “ I’ll work it up and email it to you later today.” That was three weeks ago and to date, no quote sent. I sent a lengthy email explaining my consternation about being lied to about the quote, and their failure to communicate the day I came in. I specifically pointed out their failure to provide good, respectful customer service. Especially since I was a returning customer. To date, management has not responded to my email. Their reluctance to even respond is confirmation to me that they care very little to nothing about the integrity of their service advisors, and the fact that I drove all the way from Chandler,AZ to give them our business. Instead, they gave me “the business.”"

"very poor service. my Bus was there for three months before the even contacted my warranty, than lied about it, i went and picked it up to use it 2,5 months after it being there and found they had done no work, i made an appointment November 10th this was January 10th, the bus broke down 10 miles from the shop so i had it towed back, two weeks later i stop by and asked what my warranty company approved. they stated that warranty company has never replied. I asked them to email me what they had sent the warranty company and I would talk to them, they never sent me anything. talking to the warranty company, they said today was the first time they were sent any thing so three months of just setting on their lot and they notified my warranty company, They tell me my ECM is bad and needs to be replaced, I call the warranty company they had been notified and warranty company said they wanted the ECM sent to a repair shop to verify their finding. a month goes by I call to see what the repair shop had diagnosed wrong, Tim stated to me he sent it to Freightliner in the valley here and they diagnosed it bad, Warranty company calls Freightliner if they repair ECM, their office said no they don't So I upset go get my ECM and send it into a ECM repair shop in Texas, a week later the repair shop calls and said their is nothing wrong with the ECM, I get it back and take it to Massey's they said they don't believe it's good, and insist that I authorize a new ECM go in I said thats fine if you do it i want to retain my old ECM. two weeks go by and i stop by to see how its going and they have my bus running 6 months later from when it went in there. it originally went into fix an air leak, they told my warranty company that all the air bags were leaking and some valves were and the sway bars are bad, warranty company wanted pictures of air bag dry and wet, and pictures of the sway bars. they sent two pics of air bags that are wet and leaking. but they emailed me said they will not work on my bus and gave me a bill over 2k to get my bus. so they are willing to replace things that are not bad. and they charged me for their diagnosis of my ECM that they said was bad."

"I am amazed. After days of getting the runaround from the Cummins repair shop, we asked around and every other recommendation was for Massey’s Diesel &R.V. Repair. Not only did they do the engine repair for $2000 less than Cummins quoted, but they let us stay hooked up for two days. They also replace a clamp holding the dip stick tube that both Cummins repair shops missed. The fan blade was replaced in Four hours! This included removing and replacing coolant lines. It is nice to find a honest repair shop."
