"Walked up to the door just before 11:50pm and this security guard shut the door on my face. She said they were closed. This is very upsetting because sticker on window says 12am. I asked her to grab the manager, she said ok. She stood up and sat right back down. I come in every night after work before they close. Tonight I needed to grab things to make a soup and flu medicine for my family. However this person wanted to play god and watch videos on her phone sitting down."
"There is a very bored security woman at this location In the morning. If you don’t find anything you want and try to walk out the entry gate with nothing in your hands, she will ask you to walk ALL the way around self checkout to go out the exact same door. I mean how bored are you? I didn’t have anything and that exit was closer to me and I’m just trying to go to work but you had to be up on your bored high horse just to make me go around. That’s so silly to me and she look so silly to me doing all that."
"I’m a regular at this location. Great grab and go foods for easy work lunches, easy access to sunset road, produce is usually well stocked and good quality, staff is very friendly and helpful. A lot of them regulars themselves."
"I have been shopping at this store for over 20 years and I have never had a problem. EVER. Today was a different story, their system was down or offline or something and I had to wait a few minutes because they were having problems with getting the card to go through, fine no big deal. So the cashier has another customer service supervisor come help finish the transaction and it goes through after about four tries, still fine because things happen. When I went to pay with my card it didn't go through, so fine, I try again. When the card didn't go through she looked at me and said "your card is declined" I said no, I have money can I try again? She said "no it was declined" and just stared at me until I left. On my way out the security guard rudely told me to put my personal bag (large-ish purse) under the cart, I said I'm leaving and she said she'll call the cops on me. Mind you, I am a 50 year old gray haired lady why would I be trying to pay with a overdrawn card and then what? Try to steal on my way out after I had to leave my cart of groceries that I actually need? This store is horrible now, get some people who will treat customers like people ffs"
"I dont use Smiths much and after my experience yesterday i never will again. My wife ordered our Thanksgiving mill from them and was only told to pick it up before noon on day before Thanksgiving. I had her call the store on my way to ensure all would go well. She said it was all ready to go with name on box. Of course when i got there the crew at the deli could not seem to find the order even though they seemed to know it was ordered. The finally grabbed a turkey and some stuff off the shelf and rang me up for the meal. The cashier told me they were out of containers. I asked about taking it out and he said it would be alright as i had the receipt. Against my better judgement i took the cart out as instructed and sure enough the wheels locked up at the door. The security guard came out and i gave her the receipt i had been given. She said it only had one item on it. Thanksgiving dinner for 80 but my cart had 5 or 6 separate items. turkey and those side dish trays. It was more than obvious that 80 was more than any one item in that cart. I just stood there in the front door humiliated as other people went around thinking i was a caught shop lifter. The guard unlocked the wheels and took me back inside the store to the manager. The manager did confirm that the items were the components of the meal i had bought. The guard shoved the receipt back to me told me i was right and that i could go. No apologies or anything. They let me go rather quickly or i would be seeing a lawyer after the holiday. I was stunned by the whole thing but the more i think about it the more upset i become about how i was treated."
