About the Business
The Green Woodpecker is a unique bar and restaurant located at 3110 North Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona. Unlike other establishments that may try to lure you in with flashy gimmicks, we offer a laid-back atmosphere where you can truly enjoy your beer and food. Our beer menu is constantly rotating, ensuring that you always have something new to try. And speaking of food, we offer delicious house-made chips and salsa, as well as authentic tacos al pastor carved from a fiery trompo.
You can find us in Phoenix's historic Park Central Mall, where we pay homage to the previous floral/gift shop of the same name. And if you want to take home a piece of The Green Woodpecker, be sure to check out our limited-run merchandise featuring artwork from Jeremy Fish.
Join us Monday to Friday after 4pm, and on weekends after 2pm for a great time. We also offer weekly restocks, specials, seasonal rarities, and more. Come visit us in-store or place a special order to experience everything The Green Woodpecker has to offer.

"While getting my car serviced at a nearby Firestone, I implored restaurants nearby for a place to grab a bite and beer. I walked across several establishments, but at the corner between Creighton University and a newly opened apartment complex, I came across the green woodpecker and bartender Tucker before the evening rush. This place is a great balance between atmosphere, convenience, food, and drinks. Chips and good playlist are free. I'll be coming back for tacos with the familia. If you are amicable to the flavors of gadzooks, you will be right at home here... As the al pastor and carne are from the same place. Cheers."
"Such a nice, sleek place! Perfect amount of seating for small or large groups and they don’t mind rearranging of chairs either. Free chips and salsa and the chips are served warm and there’s spicy salsa, milder salsa, and guac. There are a good amount of beers and wines to select from, none of which disappointed, or cider too. The bartenders are super nice to let you sample them before buying too!! The tacos here are also beyond amazing. Al pastor tacos are a must try! They also have cake that is very tasty!! Coming here for an afterwork Happy Hour was the best decision!"
"Highly recommend! This place offers a few options, but all of them are executed perfectly! This is a beer and wine bar. It does have some extra selections in ciders and seizers. Regarding food... these were some of the best tacos I've had in a very long time. Again, there are a few options (3, pork, beef, and mushroom), but each one is amazing!!!"
"Simple taco menu with delicious el pastor and vegan options, good craft beer list. options to dress up their tasty house made chips are full of flavor and quickly satisfied our table’s need for both spicy and mild salsas. Friendly staff and a chill vibe. We took my girlfriends mother here for her birthday and she loved it!! Glad we found this place!"
