"2/24/24: good food, clean restaurant, attentive & friendly servers, decently priced. Their hummus was smooth, creamy, and well flavored; same with the tzatziki. The only thing I was not happy about was the pita that came out with the hummus appetizer - sure it was store bought (flat and thin). Yet when we asked for some to take home (we had hummus leftover), that pita was thicker and fluffier (the way it should be!). Would we return to Pita Island? Not likely, but only because we live on the west side of the valley. The food was not so excellent to warrant the drive. If we lived closer, yes we would return."
"Order at the cash register and they bring the food to you. I ordered takeout during the height of rush hour and it was empty. The chicken schwarma platter was not schwarma meat at all but rather chicken breast or something made to look like it, then sliced in thick lengthwise strips and seasoned. Huge disappointment. I wouldn’t have ordered that had I known. The rice had no flavor and a strange inauthentic color that was just yellow rice. There wasn’t much to the side salad either, just one part of a tomato and lettuce. The humus did not taste freshly made but rather store bought. The tzatziki however, was good. It had slices of cucumber. Not sure anyone there is even Middle Eastern. Seemed very unauthentic. Overall I’m shocked at the good reviews."
"We went today after the Gilbert days parade. My son walked in it with his team and he was tired and hungry. So At first we stopped at lolo’s chicken and waffles, on our way back to our car. I was not impressed with the service, nor the menu nor the prices. I said let’s go somewhere else. We paid for our drinks - a Mountain Dew and a lemonade were $13 We walked back to our car and right in front of us was Pita island. I am soooo glad we decided to eat here instead of Lolos. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and healthy, and made to order.I got exactly what I wanted for a reasonable price. Service was pleasant and friendly. We would have paid twice as much for mediocre, unhealthy food at Lolo’s. Pita Island was a total win for us!"
"Food here was incredible and honestly reasonably priced. Not only are the portion sizes quite large, the quality of the food is also amazing. The fact that you can see straight into the kitchen is a nice-to-have for me because I like to see them cooking the orders. The only minor drawbacks I see are: 1. The restaurant itself is small, looks like it can seat maybe 25-30 people inside. We haven’t had a problem yet but I could see it filling up and hard to find a seat. 2. Their model for serving is a little confusing. They’ll seat you down and serve you drinks but then you go up to the counter to order your meal. Definitely not a deal breaker by any means but it was just interesting."
