Reviews
"The flavor of the ramen was good but it was lukewarm. The egg was cold. I ordered the ultra spicy ramen, but it wasn't spicy at all."
"After seeing previous reviews we went for lunch.... Should have been forwarded when the restaurant was completely empty. Service was attentive and friendly, prices average with ramen $12-16. The chicken karaage appetizer came with a dipping salt. Juicy chicken pieces coated in greasy dough, not the light flaky stuff usually associated with Japanese fried food. The ramens were equally disappointing, no depth of flavor or umami, more like a salty broth. Noodles were thin, a few sprouts and fungi, the whole egg was the best part. It got worse with the chashu: a single slice of dried up and chewy pork. I could neither break it with chopsticks nor could I get a bite off of it it was so dry. The replacement slice was the same: dried out and chewy. Overall, this is a place to avoid in our experience."
"I had the tonkotsu ramen. I was expecting it to be really good (because it says “Phoenix New Times’ Best Ramen” on its menu) but I felt like the broth was missing some flavors. The ramen noodles and the soft boiled egg were okay. The roasted pork slice was pretty good though."
"I tried the spicy miso soup. The taste of the broth is smooth hint of spice. Not to hot. Not a lot of meat in the soup. All the ingredients are compliments of each other. Eggs are good. Noodles are thin. Medium on softness. I am thinking they should be a little thicker but what do I know. Wonderfully smooth taste. 1/3ingredients rest broth.. I didn’t go on a busy day. On a Sunday afternoon. Seem like a popular spot usually during the week cause I tried stopping by once and they were busy. Just across from gold bar coffee shop . Pretty good to end the day.. nice.."
