"Upscale sonoran food in a casual environment. Bacanora is getting a lot of attention and it lived up to the hype. The lime halibut ceviche was bright, fresh and the right amount of spicy. Normally cucumber salad wouldn’t be my choice but wow the sauce was incredible. We also had the scallops, a fantastic elote and the Caramelo which has great carne asada and beans on a tostada. All elevated flavors. And as my wife said, those beans were not an afterthought. Meaty, smoky beans. Most of the magic comes from the one wood fired grill in the back corner of this cozy place. The cocktails were excellent too. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Ceara! Our meal with 4 cocktails was about $100 a piece. Pricey but excellent."
"The ingredients were fresh. The presentation of food was very nice. Good service and a nice atmosphere. When it comes down to it, the overall flavor of the food was just not worth the price or the wait."
"Omg amazing! From drinks to small plates to mains! Familiar yet different flavors that still give justice to Mexican Latin cuisine. Yes, it’s true that it’s hard to get a reservation, but my group of three people arrived at 5 PM opening time with no reservation, and we were able to sit at the bar and had an equally wonderful experience. The restaurant itself is very small so you have only 90 minutes to complete your meal. Despite that, you don’t feel rushed, and the friendly staff is very good about making sure you are enjoying your time and at the same time moving along. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!"
"Definitely easier to get into during the hot summer months. The bar at 5 pm is first come first serve. The food is delicious. It’s not worth the wait. It’s the rage if you want to stand and wait. The service is great. The place runs hot for the open fire grill happening. If you see a reservation opening that works for you, take it. Their sister restaurant in Mesa is also great. Definitely save room for dessert!! Gf and I shared 2 “apps” and a entree with room for dessert and were"
"This place is pure passion. The setting is young, trendy, yet focused. The mesquite fired grill is a centerpiece of the restaurant, with almost everything being cooked on there. Easily one of the greatest restaurants in the Southwest. The bar is always open for walk-ins. I had to wait less than 30 minutes for a seat. Each dish is packed with flavor and cooked with love. The staff are all very down to earth and very clearly enjoy their job. Highly recommend to anyone, everywhere."
