"Nakano is one of the greatest sushi joints in all of the southwest. Chef Leo comes from great lineage of sushi in AZ (Hiro-sama is his father), and the quality and depth here is amazing. The fish quality is tops. The execution is all there. It is always unfortunate to sit at the sushi bar and listen to the droves of people order basic rolls, spicy tuna, etc, is such a shame when such incredible cuts and treatment of fish coexist here. There are no bad bites. Plan to spend plenty of time here and enjoy yourself. This isn’t worth rushing over and defaulting to “popular classics” 10/10"
"This sushi place is so good! Customer service is amazing and their sushi was so delicious! Will definitely be coming back! We tried several rolls as well as the salmon belly, which was amazing!"
"Had 2 course omakase. Nice presentation. Smoked mackerel was my favorite. The cured and aged sushi wasn't my thing but I like the other two nigiri and that they had anago. Service is good and the chef is friendly. Edit: Went back this year after hearing they reopened and am so glad I did. The quality is consistent and I like trying a variety of fish. They have specials every week and personal attention by chef (it's a small sushi bar) so I have been back a few times because you can't beat the value. I'd eat here weekly if I could. Hope they bring back the omakase."
"I cannot recommend this place highly enough to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable sushi dining experience. Every aspect of my visit exceeded any expectation — the service was appropriately attentive and everybody was friendly, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and, the food itself... I have not stopped thinking about my food. I can’t wait to come back."
"One of the best Japanese cuisine in Arizona. The salmon sashimi is fresh. The Phoenix roll is awesome"
