"As an accidental traveler of space & time, I’ve stumbled here from centuries ahead. My original mission was clear: To investigate the past & observe firsthand the events that led to the catastrophic 'Big One.' However, amidst the chaos of temporal displacement, I awakened upon an unexpected anomaly - Carolina's Mexican Restaurant. I was greeted with something called the Oaxaca Burrito. What I discovered was a symphonic twist of flavors wrapped in a tortilla that defied all the culinary norms of my era & transported me to a dimension yet defined. The salsa, a vibrant concoction of zesty molecules dancing on my tongue, offered a taste of freedom amidst the controlled epicurean landscape of the past. In a world governed by benevolent robot overlords, edible sustenance was carefully curated to prevent us from attaining too much wisdom & strength, which could possibly challenge their dominion. Yet, Carolina's food stands before me today as a beacon of rebellion, a testament to the resilience of taste in the face of oblivion. Legend had it that long before the upheaval of the 'Big One,' there existed a world abundant with delectable wonders that travel beyond our wildest imaginations. My grandfather regaled tales of ancient delicacies like quesadillas, tacos, and something called a “Toast ahh duhh”. These tasty treats, once dismissed as whimsical fantasies or obscure cultural references, now took on new meaning as I savored each bite at this Central American eatery. Carolina's is a time capsule of flavors from an era forgotten, a testament to the resilience of taste in the face of oblivion. In a world where traditional monetary systems have faded into obsolescence, Carolina's Mexican food offers a gustatory experience that transcends the barriers of currency. With nothing but a handful of scavenged coins and the promise of gastronomic bliss, I ventured into this Latino oasis. To my surprise and delight, the cost was minimal, a mere trifle compared to the invaluable taste sensations that awaited within. As I savored each bite of the Oaxaca burrito, I couldn't help but marvel at the accessibility of such culinary delights, a rare gem in a world where scarcity reigns supreme. Carolina's, where the price of admission is measured not in coins, but in the joy of gourmet exploration. And as I contemplated the prospect of returning to my homeland, a thought crossed my mind – perhaps I had already found my new home in this era, amidst the flavors and comforts of Carolina's. Who needs the uncertainty of time travel when one has the timeless pleasures of melted cheese and homemade tortillas? In the annals of history, it was the insidious monotony of fast food chains that led humanity astray, paving the way for the catastrophic 'Big One.' People became numbed to flavor, slaves to familiarity, until they could no longer distinguish one meal from the next. But amidst this sea of culinary conformity, Carolina's stands supreme, a bastion of flavor in a world gone bland. As long as we continue to embrace the vibrant tapestry of tastes that Carolina's offers, we can safeguard against the monotony that once threatened to consume us. Now rise up with me. Let US be the ones that consume!! Let us. Let us. …lettuce."
"This is one of our favorite Mexican food spots and we always visit when we come to Phoenix. We shared a tasty Machaca Burrito, a really nice Green Corn Tamal (green chile, cheese, and corn steamed in masa), and a couple of delicious Potato Tacos in crispy corn tortilla shells (so hard to find. Why?) Ordering was easy, service efficient, and the place was clean. Nice place!"
"This is a double review. I ordered catering to go. The lady on the phone for ordering was super nice and helpful. The order was correct, a good amount of food, cheaper than if I had bought everything at the store and had to cook myself. Well worth it! I didn't realize the large tortillas were so big! Should have gotten the small for tacos. The only negative was I was supposed to pick it up at 10am. I got that at 10:15 and they had no clue. Order was not ready until 10:37. But the worker was very nice. And I had time. Then I ate in store while I was waiting. The location was clean. Almost empty, which I've never seen a Carolina's without a line. The hard shell beef taco was amazing. One of my most favorite hard shell beef tacos. The hot sauce is consistently good. Ice tea is always fresh and cold. The cheese enchilada was very good. I got 1/2 red and 1/2 green sauce. I preferred the green sauce but nothing wrong with the red sauce. The worker girl was nice but also coughed the entire time I was ordering. Either wear a mask or stay home."
