"Went in last night for an exchange on a luggage that was gifted to me 2/2/24. The older Hispanic woman behind the register that "helped" me out was rude and with zero common sense. She asked me if i cancelled my travels plans and told her no, just wanted to exchange it out for a different color (i had the gift receipt as well with all tags still attached). She starred at the gift receipt for quiet some time before i finally asked her if there was an issue. She asked me if i purchased the item there (again, she's holding the TJMAXX gift receipt???) i said yes, it was purchased Friday. She then proceeded to apologize to me condescendingly saying that she had to ask these questions (not sure what she was asking or trying to imply as all tags were still attached). Then she says to me that she's not sure if she can accept the return because it looks like its been used and traveled.... I told her it wasn't, i had no way of attaching manufacturer tags on and obviously she saw me roll it in. She continued to insist that it was used before finally telling me that i couldn't get cash back but a merch card instead. I love TJMAXX, and love that we have one here in Sahuarita. But lack of customer service and her trying to imply whatever other than me trying to exchange merchandise was irritating. All their luggage sets aren't in BRAND NEW condition (nor do i have the expectation of them being so)- the wheels are dirty, some are scuffed, so again, what was the issue? I've worked retail for well over 10 years so i don't mind people asking me questions on returns or exchanges but this interaction was really uncalled for."
