"Best sandwich shop in central phoenix! This place has been serving sandwiches forever. The vintage oven toasts the breads perfectly. Excellent Coleslaw and potato salad. Comfortable atmosphere."

"The place exudes serious nostalgia. From the wood-laden decor to the 80’s rock playing in the background. There is even a black-and-white tintype photo of the “founder” hanging above the counter. The servers are super friendly and glad to see you. The day I was there they were very busy but they consistently checked in with me to update me on the progress of order. They had lots of locals coming in picking up big orders. They were working hard! The sandwich was huge. It was not packed to over over-flowing with meat but well balanced over the expansiveness of the large roll. Every bite was yummy. Some have said the bread is burned. Mine was appropriately toasted. The potato salad was savory and tangy. I would go back there to step again into a more simpler time when restaurants cared about taking care of their customers and providing high quality food at reasonable prices."

"This is the least amount of meat I have ever seen on a sandwich. Like, maybe half an ounce? I ordered the $15 "Super Sicilian" which is supposed to have "Genoa salami, cappicoll a, imported ham, Swiss, pepper and provolone cheese, cotto salami and spiced ham." Instead I got a tiny slice of ham and a tiny slice of salami. Look at the pics! Bread was good. And the service was fine. But seriously? Look at the pics. Did they accidentally give me vegan or something?"

"Recently visited this restaurant by phoenix college the food was amazing! I tried the Sicilian sub it was our first time there the service was great ! The restaurant gives Italian vibes definitely must stop by if you haven't yet !"

"Terrible. I work close by, and I have driven past this restaurant for 13 years, and I've never stopped. I wish I hadn't. Small parking lot with small spaces. No one to greet you when you arrive, so I had no clue what to do. After standing awkwardly at the door without being greeted at all, I walked to the back of the restaurant. Someone stumbled upon me and seemed surprised to see me. I asked to be seated and was told I needed to order at the counter. Cafeteria-style service - you order and pay, get your own drink, and then choose your own seat. I ordered the Patras pasta with a side salad and a beer on the menu. I was told they didn't have the beer I ordered or blue cheese dressing. I asked for a Moretti beer (received) and a water glass I didn't receive. I went back to the counter to get a water glass but never could drink from it because it had lipstick on the outside and food stuck to the inside. Salad was plain - iceberg lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, 2 slices of tomato. The pasta was awful. I'm a terrible cook, and I could have done a better job. Overcooked penne, a few sliced mushrooms, and tons of what tasted like store bought sauce. I wouldn't serve it to company - never mind serve it in a restaurant! If you are tempted to stop here, I'd pass."
