"I've eaten at LAMA 4 times now. The Fried Chicken with Cilantro Rice is my new favorite dish. It's very colorful, flavorful & well presented! I'm so grateful that Mesquite has a terrific new restaurant."
"New restaurant in town & wanted to give it a try. Shared a stir-fried rice meal, with a side of shrimp & empanadas. Found everything very tasty. Only nits, you may experience a bit of communication / language challenge, but if you don't mind pointing at the menu, you can work around it. Also found it odd when I asked for a drink refill, & I was charged for an additional glass - don't remember the last time I was charged for a pop refill. Worth trying & supporting a local business."
"Today we visited LAMA restaurant and were not disappointed but first I would like to tell you about Peruvian cuisine, it’s not Mexican! Peruvian cuisine is a vibrant fusion of indigenous ingredients, Spanish, African, and Asian influences. Some key facts about Peruvian food include its diverse use of potatoes (originating from Peru), the iconic dish ceviche (citrus-marinated raw fish), the spicy pepper paste called aji, and the popularity of dishes like lomo saltado (stir-fried beef) and causa (potato-based dish). Peru is also famous for its quinoa and the unique drink Pisco, a grape-based brandy used in the classic cocktail, Pisco Sour. There is quite a large influence of Japanese and Chinese in Peru. My wife and I both ordered Saltado, with red onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, french fries, rice and chicken. It was quite good, all the ingredients were fresh. My wife ordered an Inca Cola that is like yellow and green in color and tastes like a vanilla cream soda. Empanadas, which we did not order, are similar to a turnover, but not sweet. The ingredients inside usually is a meat, potatoes, and some spices. Please understand that Spanish is their primary language but the younger guy, Brian, has a translator app. He does speak some English and being young, he’ll probably be more proficient in a few months. Think of it as visiting another country while in Mesquite. My 95 year old mother enjoyed the visit, and now has opened her mind to a different ethnic food. I’ve attached a few photos for you to look at. We are definitely returning."
"Dine in, first time here. The menu was very unclear about what you’re getting. My husband can’t eat rice, and everything came with rice! We should be able to sub potatoes or something. My order was forgotten, which is not a really big deal, but they should have offered some type of compensation. I assumed as a dinner plate the chicken and fried rice meant Peruvian chicken AND fried rice, but it was fried rice WITH chicken pieces in it. The flavor was good and it was hot, but just fried rice with 3 slices of fried plantain. NOT my idea of a dinner. My husband had Saltado, tenderloin with tomatoes and peppers which was tough and lukewarm and pretty small. My sister’s salad, which she understood from the waiter was enough for a dinner, was basically a side salad. If you want an actual dinner, you’ll need to order a salad and an appetizer with your meal. It’s basically a small diner. They should think about some more decorations. I hope they revise their menu and keep trying."
"Just tried mama I ordered a Peruvian burger to go. It was fantastic. I’ve had burgers all over Mesquite and I could confidently say 10 out of 10 the bacon was crispy. The meat was good. It was a juicy burger even the fries are good. I loved how they were crisp outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, placed my order to go as I had to stop to run some errands will definitely be back. The staff were great to deal with. They were happy. They were proud of the food they were making Which is something you don’t see often especially now nowadays I will rate this place 10 out of 10. Will be back with my family and I’m so happy that this place is here. I definitely feel we should support them more so don’t let the little walk from the parking lot discourage. You definitely check out this place ."
