"The vet tried to get me to do $800 plus in testing for a UTI. I told her no to most everything except some blood work and meds. They couldn’t do the blood work and urine sample that day because the lab had already picked up for the day. I sent my husband with the cat on Monday and he had to leave the cat. They convinced him to do an ultra sound WHICH I HAD ALREADY DECLINED by stating it was necessary. All he was there for was the bloodwork and urine analysis. So, he said ok unknowing I already declined it. Then, when he went to leave and give them his number, they said he couldn’t leave his number because he was not on the account and that they had to talk to me. Well, if he can’t pick up the cat to take him home WHY WAS IT OK TO GIVE PERMISSION FOR THE ULTRASOUND THAT I ALREADY DENIED? When I went to pick up the cat later that day, I found out what happened. This Vetco tries to get you to pay for all kinds of unnecessary testing. I told them that my cat had chronic issues and there was no fixing them. I’ve seen 6+ vets in the last 10 years to fix him. Nothing works! It just puts a bandaid on it for now. I will NEVER go to the vet and will tell everyone not to go. By the way, the ultrasound came up fine! Just like I said it would! It was unnecessary! I KNOW MY CAT! They never offered anything to fix the issues. Just charged me for services that I declined but convinced my husband (who wasn’t on the account and could not pick up the cat that day) for those same services. AWEFUL! Oh, and the vet left a message on my phone saying that he could have CANCER and that more tests were needed!!! By the way also… my regular vet said there wasn’t anything unusual in the blood work. NOTHING BUT A POSSIBLE UTI!!!!"
"Great location, my pup felt very comfortable! The staff is also very friendly."
"Brought my two dogs in as a new customer. They turned us down and asked to reschedule because they have to do exams on both of them because they are new, knowing they had back to back appts all day. I asked, when making the appt over the phone, if it was for both and enough time for them. They said it would be. It is hard enough to scramble both of them together and get them to the location, but then just to get turned away when they could have mentioned something sooner. Very poor communication and flexibility on their part. I do not recommend!"
"Absolutely terrible communication and service outside of the vet techs. We had our dog sterilized here and the vet somehow managed to cut one of her vital organs open during the operation and chose not to call us after we asked to be contacted about any complications during the surgery or if there were any other issues that arose. The staff was also attempting to get us out without informing us of the issues related to the injury due to the surgeon's carelessness. Our dog also immediately had her stitching open up right after we picked her up and we had to speed back to have it fixed. I would strongly recommend going to any other animal hospital in the Derby area if you care about the wellbeing of your pet. 0/10 would not recommend. I have had multiple animals spayed and neutered in my lifetime and something like this has NEVER happened at a different location and if there were any complications from any form of surgery from a different vet I was called as soon as possible, it was not a surprise waiting for me when I came to pick up my pet. The conduct was terrible, the surgeon was irresponsible, and the staff knew what had happened and tried to get us out the door without us complaining. Any responsible pet owner should pick a different care provider, especially for surgeries, unless absolutely necessary."
"The doctors and staff were very good for the most part, and the facility is fine. What I took issue with is when they sedated my Zoe before administering the med to put her down, she wasn't sedated. She was PARALYZED! And I find that to be very cruel and inhumane. She was still able to open her eyes and when a tear rolled down her snout I was furious. She was aware of everything happening and I'll never forgive myself for letting them put her through that."
