"We choose El Paso every time we have a need for our pets! My senior cat visits regularly for her hyperthyroidism and they are amazing with her. They swiftly diagnosed her and have her on a routine of hormone stabilizers that have her healthy and back to her usual self. When our dog got stung in the face and swelled up like a balloon animal they got him back and taken care of swiftly. We recently had a serious emergency with our puppy concerning an obstruction in his digestive tract and the clinic was booked for the day. One of the owners (Jeff) and vet there that day spoke to me on the phone and said he would stay through his lunch to see me and address the issue. I am forever grateful for this as I would have no peace of mind at any other clinic. He calmly went over options and we discussed what was best. He handled our critter with genuine care and concern even kissing the top of his head. His team stayed after hours performing the surgery and luckily our puppy is going to be A OKAY! We are so grateful and impressed with the care we continue to receive here. The people at the front desk, the techs, and the vets are personable and professional and I know our pets are in good hands. I will continue to choose El Paso for all of our pets needs!"
"I just want to start this review off with the fact that I initially loved the staff of El Paso (not doctors). I have recommended this place to 4 of my friends because of how quick they can get you in, the ladies at the front being SO BEYOND helpful. Lady at the front with curly hair that offers coffees and water is the nicest clerk/check in person I have EVER met. I cannot remember the doctors name off the top of my head (older man, will insert picture), but I have had nothing but horrible experiences with him. My very first visit at El Paso was when we initially adopted my Pup from the Humane Society, we went for a checkup and consultation on severe separation anxiety. He recommended a pill and tranquilizer (if it got worse) and you could just tell the entire visit he had bigger priorities to deal with. I still returned and had an amazing experience with Alina Bush i believe. Another visit for my new kittens first shots another younger male vet was very persistent on declawing my cat. We expressed that we didn’t want to do that, and he continued to go on and on and on about it making it very uncomfortable. Lastly my recent visit on 3/8/24. I told my partner if the older man was our doctor I would be upset, but I knew we got squeezed in last minute and all I cared about was my pup. When examining her she almost fell off the table 3x (my partner stood up and pushed her back on the table). He wasnt sympathetic. My dog was having lethargy, throwing up (3 times in vet lobby as well), not eating, and her entire demeanor was off. They asked to do x-rays and we agreed and talked finances… I asked “what will happened if x-rays show nothing?” He said “we will come back and talk about possibly some shots, whatever is in yalls budget”. after x-rays the vet tech came back and said they had given her a series of shots (if i’m correct 4), without asking. and we’re going to prescribe her 3 pills and did not explain what the were for. The vet bill was too high for us we begged to see if we could pay remaining balance when I got paid in a couple days. Luckily management agreed and i’m thankful. He went over the X-rays with us and pointed to a mass or unusual body and said “We are not sure what this is , it is not blocking anything so should be fine but we’re going to treat like a bacterial stomach infection”… Not even a week later (today 3/13/24). my dogs symptoms came back (after being completely fine) 5x STRONGER. Having seizures, naseua, throwing up, lethargy BAD!!! we finally found a different vet with amazing reviews. and they were the sweetest ever and genuinely cared for my pet in a way i’ve never seen anyone do. Constant reassurance, bill estimate printed for me before making any decisions, multiple people helping my pup walk, picking up throw up, etc. They wanted to do a blood test as well since the Vet at El Paso said “i personally just wouldn’t do a blood test it wouldn’t do much for us in this situation”. They also reviewed x-rays over from El Paso and multiple doctors saw an unusual tube looking thing which they believe is her intestines above her rib cage and not in her abdomen. Theres also emptiness in her abdomen where the intestines should be, they believe it is a hernia/ other issue i can’t remember. If it is I will be so much more disappointed in El Paso for this. I have had multiple people tell me to ask for a refund on entire visit, and honestly I don’t care about the shots/pills/visit price. But I do want a refund for the x-rays. everything went down hill after that. And found out this has happened to so many people as well here. :( Also morals / and values on your website do not match the service we’ve received here from ANY VET! Applause to the lady up front though!"
"I take my foster dogs to El Paso and I have to say, all of the staff are great. The vets are also very good. In any office it's not just the top "dogs" that deserve accolades but, the staff who set up and tear down the rooms. It seems that all works smoothly. One day at noon, they were having a taco party, for the staff? Good idea! Hope they have more team building times, as every office needs those times."
"I am very thankful for Dr.McKinney and all of the staff for their communication & the level of care they have given my Doberman , Salem , while in their care . We rushed her there Thursday morning due to her throwing up & not eating for a little over a day . Within 10 minutes of walking in the door they had her in a room & being evaluated . We got there around 9:30 and by 1pm they had her in surgery to look for a blockage and sure enough found one . Without Dr. McKinney + the staff’s quickness and expertise Im sure this would have been much different outcome . They have been very communicative & transparent since the very beginning with what was going on with Salem , the procedure being done and the cost of care .Dr called me before and after the procedure & they have texted me updates every time I have asked about her . I can see the love & care my girl is getting while visiting and I could not be happier ! This was a terrifying experience but knowing Salem was in great hands made it so much easier . You can’t put a price on great care . Thank you to everyone that has cared for Salem during her stay!"
"We went to put my beloved dog of 17 years down, over an hour of sitting and waiting in a 50° room (no heat) they completely forgot we were in there waiting for them. SHAME. ON. YOU. What an awful time to forget about your clients. Fire Sherri at the front desk for not informing any doctors we were there waiting for them. On top of that we overheard a man waiting for his cat for over 3 hours. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else. They do not care about you or your furbabies, only your wallet. Shame on you El Paso. You completely ruined my dog's last walk! You stuck us in a room and told no one. We were there waiting with grief and heartbreak. FOR OVER AN HOUR. Severely unprofessional with the given circumstances."
