"I reached out via Phycologist Today. The counselor must have never read my email I sent her because the receptionist responded instead. The receptionist was reading personal private outreach. The receptionist wrote to call and set up an appointment for a few months from then. When I called and left a message, the voicemail was really strange with fumbling in the background like the person speaking was extremely distracted. I left my information to receive a call back to set up an appointment. We played phone tag and when I did get the receptionist on the phone, they didn't have any idea of when the next opening was and I had to tell them per the information left on my voicemail. There was over a two month wait. I have since found someone to help me but when I messaged here to cancel, there was no cordiality or thank you. So, considering the point that most people get to in order to consider therapy, it's not a good sign that in the few months it takes just to get in the door, you are treated like an after thought at best."

"It's been over a year now since I last saw Angela and I am still so grateful for her counsel that I feel the need to share. In the course of being raised in a divorced household, I was forced to see my share of counselors while growing up. I endured therapists who were biased, seriously underqualified individuals encouraging bullying in the name of communication, and a parent who walked away from her sessions with shiny new labels to put on everyone else's bad behavior. As a result I avoided therapy as an adult, instead preferring to rely on books and my own intuition. I finally admitted I could use some help after leaving a difficult marriage and realizing I didn't have even a basic tool set for a healthy future relationship, since I still wasn't sure what I could have done differently with my failed marriage. My sister highly recommended Angela and I am so grateful I made that first appointment. There was so much that I didn't know I didn't know, voices from my past that I didn't consciously realize I was fighting every day. Angela was so kind and compassionate, as well as incredibly insightful. She helped me to see how I was defeating myself and led me to look inward to find what I personally held as my core values. Most importantly (and most impossibly) she helped me to let go of that wound-up tightness that was my fear of rejection so I can embrace what life has to bring. Over a year later, I still hear Angela's voice in my head when I realize I'm holding on too tight, reminding me that my value isn't set by others' opinions and I'm a wonderful, unique person who is worth loving. I'm in a loving, healthy relationship now with a wonderful partner and I am so grateful to be able to bring the things she taught me into our relationship. All the tools and ways of thinking she taught me have blossomed into the partnership I always dreamed about but thought existed only in movies. Angela, I can never thank you enough for all your help.
