Reviews
"Worst moving company. They lie, they overcharge you, damage you belongings and don’t pay anything back. Rude and unprofessional. Use any other moving company. I wish I would have paid more attention to the prior reviews. Terrible not sure how they keep getting away with scamming people. They need to shut down."
"I wish I had done more research. A broker will set you up with this awful moving service. Beacon is the broker and is no longer available via a website. Western Van lines did not do a walk through and lied about it. The person in charge of our move in St. Louis, Rodney, argued with me about many of the things I was moving. Very confusing and unprofessional. It's a move don't understand the. They got high on their lunch break - so St. Louis. It took nearly 3 weeks beyond the date we set up for delivery for our belongings to arrive in Virginia. If I had the means and the money I would do more to make sure this company went out of business. Awful employees, awful service. I could NEVER get ahold of anyone. Broke an old table - still haven't heard on my claim and it's been 4 months. Everything about this company is AWFUL."
"I was grateful I got my possessions at all but they gave me no notice before the unloaders arrived. Calling or emailing customer service was a lesson in futility. Most times I was on hold for 15 minutes then it went to voicemail. I didn't get a call back leaving a voicemail half the time. Email responses were short and not fully informative. Several items were missing like a whole box of clothes, a coffee table, a printer, and a tv leg. The best they could offer me wa a settlement claim. I will not use a van line or interstate moving company again. A few different companies and several people were involved from the broker, the loaders, the drivers, and the unloaders. one didnt know what the other was doing and I didnt really know who to even ask. Not to mention the cost ended up beng twice what they quoted and very costly. The movers were efficient and mostly careful with my items but there were a few things broken and of course missing. And there was damage done to the hardwood floors in my new property during move in."
"Honestly not worth one star. If i could give them zero stars i would. BEWARE.Were way late with delivery. They were supposed to be here july 11 but didn't show up till august 6. Didn't give 24 hr notice before they arrived like they are supposed to. The driver tried to lie that he gave 24 hours notice when he did not. He tried to threaten a late fee when they were beyond late when in actuality we had to call someone to quickly go down there to sign the paper so they can unload everything because they didn't call till they were actually there because they didn't give 24 hours notice like they are supposed to. Then they were arguing about payment with one another. Then the driver tried to blame us when he lied to the people who were moving about the time that was agreed upon. Completely unprofessional. The driver was unbelievably rude it's like he had a problem talking to women not to mention it seemed like he was just trying to screw over the movers. This whole experience just shows never to use this kind of service not from these people because of this is how you act when you're moving people's stuff why would anyone want to hire you. I recommend going somewhere else if you're looking for someone to be professional and move your stuff on time."
"You will never meet an actual employee of this company until you contact a broker. As the broker does not have trucks and no DOT licensing they sell the job (you) to a company like Western Van Line who also goes by the name of Planet Van Lines because the reviews on the BBB have become so bad. I am sure soon that they will have yet again another number and name. This company will literally charge you for air in a truck, your actual cubic feet, what you are charged by, WILL increase no matter what. This is how they make their money. Often times it will be a 100 to 500cf up charge which will equal to $500 to $5000 more than what you were expecting to pay and that will not include the extra charges for stairs, long carry, appliances, and other handling charges for large items. These Extras actually make sense, but not the invisible cubic feet you will be charged. You will notice that none of the trucks will be decaled, no identification, and the workers will have no uniform, not even a T-Shirt. If this happens to you, immediately call a lawyer and then your state attorney general. Police can do nothing for you. The broker will lock you into a battle so that you will not get your deposit back, that is where the Lawyer will be needed, especially with larger jobs where they take in excess of more than $3000 before they even send a moving team. Beware of companies like this. If you can not meet with your mover before your move, do not pay over the phone. Location is a big thing, if you are in a major city, there is no problem with getting a company to meet you. More rural areas you may not get to meet with someone. Signed - A previous Employee"
