"Absolutely horrible experience. On Aug 2, I opened an account online to transfer a meaningful amount of money to create a CD at 7.23%. Their system crashed and could not get my account officially established until Aug 9, even though telling me the account would be established "by tomorrow" when I checked in. Well, evidently banking management arbitrarily canceled the CD offer on Aug 8 and now I have money transfers in limbo because of this bank's policies and unwillingness to honor its previously stated comittments. Let this be a lesson to anyone who wants to establish a banking relationship and invest within it. They don't care about you and willingly lie along the way to keep you around. Now I have to go through another manual process to unravel this banking relationship, and they have all my personal details. Scary. Learn from my mistake and don't let any of your nest egg be held hostage by this institution."
"Great little community bank! They should get a bit more advanced, like an atm night deposit capability, along with easy access to cash apps, but the service is bar none the best, overdrafts aren't punitively high for those young folks with little money, and they gave competitive loan offers too. Compared to Wells Fargo, LCCU is absolutely ridiculously better in every conceivable way, along with any other national bank chain built to steal money from people who have very little. And disregard those negative reviews, they're full of it or were in fact responsible for their misgivings."
"My wife and I have had an account with LCCU for years. About 4 years ago we took out a personal loan with the local branch in Clarkston and we set up automatic payments linked to our Banner account which is our main account. So of course in 4 years we've never missed a payment. This month we finally finished paying our loan and only owed $58. Our monthly payment is $162. My wife and I live outside the country and currently don't have LCCU debit cards. I assumed LCCU's system would only pull the amount we owed from our banner account for our last payment. But even so I attempted to set up Banner as an external account on LCCU's app so I could just manually make the payment myself. I went through the verification steps and successfully linked Banner but then when I went to use it to pay the loan off, it said it wasn't a valid method. LCCU then pulled the full $162 out of our banner account even though we only owed $58... We had not planned for this so fortunately it didn't overdraft that account... And then without any communication or permission LCCU just put the extra money they took into our savings account which we can't access without a debit card. I called and was helped by a woman with a very condescending attitude who basically told me that their system can't do anything but pull the full amount, and that I must have messed something up when I tried to link Banner. She had to get permission to send the extra money back to us which will take at least 2 days which is an inconvenience for us. No apology, no compassion, not even a goodbye when the conversation was over. Completely unacceptable customer service, and a ridiculously stupid system that apparently has the ability to pull extra money and put it in a savings account without permission but doesn't have the ability to pull the correct amount in the first place. LCCU used to have excellent customer service, and we used to bank with them for a reason. But because of this and past issues with international transactions (again we live outside the states), we will be closing out accounts when we visit the states this year."
"I have been a member since I was a child. I just recently applied for a loan and LCCU went above beyond to make sure I understood every step of the process. I love LCCU!"
"Always courtious and helpful, I would give them 5 stars for customer service. But, I wish they would get their online bill pay set up. Also frustrating because the way they process their payments my other bank looks at as an ATM withdrawl, so if I want to pay more than my withdrawl limit I have to call one bank to have them lift the limit and then them to make a payment. Just want them to make it easy for me to give them my money is all!"
