"I've been treated for breast cancer at St Al's Boise and St Al's Nampa. I would say if you want generic textbook treatment this place is probably fine. But if you want doctors who answer your questions, who are up to date on current and innovative procedures and drugs, and who give holistic care, I don't think that can be had here. Doctors Prier and Khadour flat-out refused to answer questions. Dr khadour even went so far as to tell me if I couldn't trust her to decide what I needed to know and when I needed to know it that I needed a different doctor. But the biggest problem here, is that almost all Cancer Care is destructive to the heart and yet St Al's Cancer center does not provide preventive cardiology or even cardiac assessment prior to treatment. I hope that is something that they will provide in the near future. They claim to be an innovative cancer center, they need to step up and start providing some innovative treatments."
"Very bad service. Sat in a room for about 2 hours no one checked up on me, just for them to end up telling me that they were going to need labs done at the end. Waste of my time. Smh. Never going back there."
"Don’t be a multiple caretaking family with two members or from out of state. Saint Alphonsus is more policy driven than caretaking even if you’re on their approved list. Very guarded and limited on information discussed and quite often it changes from what they tell you and what they do. Covid-19 “directives” is no longer an excuse for limiting caretakers, now it’s just poor operating procedures. Also several incidents of medications not called in or changed from the office visit. I wish your family members well and a hopeful recovery. If you’re thinking of Saint Alphonsus I consider other options as well."
"Dr. Karedan is amazingly smart and knows what she's doing! Dr. Connor and Polina have always made me feel important and comfortable. They are both wonderful. Pam, Dr. Karedan's nurse, is so very caring and loving. Sarah my chemo nurse and all the chemo nurses are fabulous. Susan the front receptionist is always kind. Thank you all for making my cancer journey less scary."
"My partner for the last 11 years was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. We are now halfway through the chemo process. All the nurses at the cancer center are beyond amazing! So compassionate and sincere. Unfortunately, amazing stops here. Chemo has caused her to become bed ridden. So much pain she can't walk, sleep, barely eats. We tried in vain to reach her "people" for a day and a half. Over an hour on hold and no answer. We came to her appointment and after all this and going from a vibrant positive outgoing person to a frail, hunched over, wanting to die mess, she was prescribed an antidepressant for her CIPN. (Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy). Extreme pain for her to even try holding a cup. Dr. Pierson's PA, Jen, is a cold, callous, vain woman who doesn't understand that cancer doesn't just hit the patient, it hits the whole family! We ALL go through the process and pain! For her to be rude and pompous to us for stressing our opinion of a pain reliever over an antidepressant for pain is entirely unacceptable. Jen, you have no business dealing with ill persons! We are in shock over your behavior! Dumbfounded. Thank you for making a bad time horrible!"
