"I am unfortunately no longer interested in finishing my education at LCSC. I did not find a place for myself in clubs or other activities with other students who share academic interests. I attempted to be a part of the psychology club where I only received an email about a volunteer project. I did not receive an email while I was attending LCSC in Winter 2022 or Spring 2023 about a Psychology club meeting. I believe the club was lead by Dr. Rust. I also found my experiences with professors as unsatisfactory. Dr. Rust blatantly disregarded my mental health when I came to her after being advised to meet with her by Autumn from Accomodations and Muna Crook. Dr. Rust refused to help me and showed absolutely no empathy for my anxiety and struggle to find a place in her class. She made me feel so uncomfortable in her office that I had to leave. She typed in an email with capital letters about missing her class which came off passive aggressive and rude to me. I didn't want to tell her why I missed her class because I didn't want her to be rude to me about it which is exactly what happened. I had accommodations but was never able to receive the help I needed even when I asked for it. She refused to let me take the first test at all. She demanded I do a writing assignment and that she'd fail me even if I had an A and did all of the other course work. Dr. Earles was not readily willing to help me in her class, neither. She said I had poor time management when I approached speaking to her in person about my mental health. She claimed I was "milking" my accommodations and that I was not using them properly. Dr. Earles due dates were confusing to me in her syllabus. She only gave me accommodations on quizzes. She did not give me accommodations on essays or weekly writing assignments. I read and worked through everything but since I didn't have her opinions or regurgitate answers I was wrong. I used my brain, and spent hours working on the writing assignments to get a D on them. I did my best and it was never good enough for Dr. Rust or Dr. Earles. Dr. Earles mentioned that she may not be a good fit as my faculty mentor which made me feel out of place. I did not want Dr. Rust to be my advisor alternatively. I wasn't going into Sociology and am not that interested in environmental sociology like Dr. Earles is. I did however have positive experiences with Dr. Reed and Dr. Remien who worked with me every step of the way. I felt comfortable enough to talk to them about assignments. Dr. Reed worked with me with the tests in his Social Problems sociology course which I enjoyed. Dr. Remien worked with me with extensions on essays and took time to talk to me about writing and other topics in English that may interest me - like shakespeare. Dr. Remien was empathetic and never ridiculed me. He never made me feel worse about my mental health. I felt like he actually cared about my life and not just his class or his degree. I hope this email gives you a better picture of my experience at LCSC. I do not reccomend LCSC personally to any of my friends, especially those who struggle mentally with diagnosed disorders and those with learning disorders. Sincerely Emily Stulce"
"Love LCSC. Their staff and professors are awesome and supportive. If they have your major, I highly recommend them!"
