"Great collection of historic (old west) items from the area. There's a free museum in the shop. If you have more time (45 minutes) pay to walk through the old west town. The shop has a nice collection of interesting things, too."
"Really cool historical museum off of I70. The curators of the museum are very friendly. The old town display is very cool and informative. It was fascinating walking through the old town and seeing how people then used to live and work. The vintage cars and farm equipment on display were great to see in person. It's a great place to stop by and see a piece of history."
"A Must Stop! Enjoyed every minute of it! I already thought it was great and then I learned that all the buildings were authentic and came with there own story of local use! Authenic items in each building are carefully thought out so you feel like you actually stepped back in time and are visiting the real thing. Very nice staff and fun to talk to for icing on the cake. GREAT JOB BURLINGTON, I highly recommend!"
"Burlington Colorado Old Town Museum: Excellent trip through History! A hidden treasures of the State Colorado. Great day trip as weather permits. Not a crowded and easy to self guided tour, just follow the map and instructions with the aid of the recorded boxes it’s most enlightening. Beautiful experience for adults , the young and for the history enthusiastic. This could be tour of an hour or longer, is up to us. Every single piece you’ll find here it has a place in history, could find it on the old kitchen, school house, pharmacy, post office or even outside with the carriage carts! Definitely worth the drive and check the schedules for the museum and for the Kit County Carrousel other piece of art history with their handcrafted horses. Road trip in Beautiful Colorado!"
"Totally worth it! It’s a “small” museum in budget only—there are upwards of 20 Old Town buildings that range from a barbershop to a print shop to a jailhouse to a boarding house. It’s highly interactive (you can sit in the jail cells and even pretend to serve milkshakes at the sweets shop). It doesn’t cover a lot of area, so it’s easy to walk for visitors of all ages! Our 6 and 9 year olds loved it just as much as Grandma and Mom. There’s also a cool indoor gallery of old cars, farm machinery, and displays on the history of Native Americans, Pioneers, and even thousands of types of barbed wire. There’s something for EVERYONE. Inside the main building, there’s a Hall of Heroes dedicated to the services as well as a gift shop, ice cream, and more restrooms. If you’re driving through, it’s the perfect spot for a quick break"
