""About" 4.2mi. round trip from parking lot to guffey butte flag pole (west side of the butte) and back. Hike isnt too bad, take your time and bring plenty of water during the summer. Lots of grasshoppers along the way, flying ants near the edges of cliffs, didnt see or hear any snakes, seen 7 deer total, some on the top of the butte, some below to the south and a couple birds of prey flying the thermals at the top, only about 20ft away. Only seen one other group up there, man, woman and 5-6yo kid. Great views of the surrounding areas and the larger snake river valley. lots of geology to observe and ponder, overall a worth while daytime adventure for most people."
