Reviews of Primary Care Associates
"My son had gone here for years. In the last week I have had to make 4 phone calls before someone called me back. Then the office manager tells me due to his insurance they are not able to see him anymore. They didn't send any notification of this. His DR. left and I asked the lady at the front desk, back in October, if we intended to keep going there was there anything we needed to do. She told me no. Now he is out of medicine and they will not refill it or see him."
"The stars are for Phoenix who was amazing. My 13-year old child experienced gaslighting from the provider today, who, per my perception, wantonly blamed symptoms in psychologically damaging manner (gaslighting) on "anxiety." We were talked over and cut off at every turn, and gave up on asking questions. Sent to the lab, who sent us to the front desk to get hte ticket, who sent us back to the lab, who tried to send us back to the front desk. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. Finally was sent back to the checkout window or whatever that nobody ever stops at, and was asked to pay for labs I knew would be covered (I have worked this field for 10 years, in coding compliance. I did request these labs and was very aware of what I was doing). I was asked to pay up front and sign the abn. no problem with paying: we owe a deductible the beginning of every year. I have every problem signing an ABN for services I can't guarantee will be billed accurately, and by an office who has been billing pass through claims to UHC and other insurers against their provider contracts for years. I made the office aware of this years ago, and they continue to do it obtaining payment for services which is NOT due. I called insurance and they notated everything, I am still filing an additional complaint as they retract payments made over the last year. These guidelines fall under provider manuals and guidelines stating providers are only due payment for services rendered by them, not by anyone else. So when Labcorp is contracted to work in PCA's office as a separate entity, PCA is not allowed to bill for their services to my insurance. To my knowledge they are only allowed to bill BCBS of KS Commercial policies unless something has changed in the past year. I hope my insurance does a full audit. WE WERE DENIED SERVICES FROM A CONTRACTED PROVIDER when we asked to receive labs billed by Labcorp (CONTRACTED) instead of by the office. We were asked to go elsewhere, presumably because they would not be making any money. I hope the provider will review listening to patients, sensitivity training, and healthy wording. My child has gender dysphoria and body anxiety and the way the shirt was pulled up for this exam and their body was prodded did not create a feeling of a safe space. I wish more sensitivity had been used when discussing the conditions pertaining to skin. My child already has PTSD related to medical providers. This was flat out awful. We are switching providers. This had been my child's healthcare office since they were born. No longer."
"I have had great experiences with all of the staff friendly outgoing funny caring I don’t know why everyone is jumping to conclusions before thinking. Doctors follow protocol as like any medical field would. The people complaining are the ones who need desperate care but are to cranky or lazy to get the help needed. Have never had any problems great staff great doctors and phlebotomist and X ray tech and many more."
"Best PCP I’ve ever had. Also make it easy and fast to set appointments, receive recommendations and test results all quickly and online. Love PCA and Dr. Angela Leiker, her nurses and staff."
"I have been seeing Dr. Claudia Wendell since 2012. I went in to see her about two weeks ago and had the worst visit of my life. When she entered the room she did not ask how I was doing. I brought up a couple of symptoms I was experiencing; long term head cold and facial dermatitis. While she was checking my vitals, I also brought up that my back was still in pain. She ordered me an x-ray and MRI a few months ago, so she knows the history of my back pain. When I brought that up, she literally ignored me- did not respond. Dr. Wendell told me she was going to prescribe me a steroid for my face- I told her I did not want a steroid, but I will trust her. Her response was "well you should trust me since I am your doctor, and if not maybe you need a new one.' Dr. Wendell never took the time to discuss with me why I did not want a steroid nor did she take a culture of my derm. Dr. Wendell then opened the door, and I asked her again what I should do for my back. She told me to keep exercising. I began to cry as I had just felt so worn down from chronic pain, being sick, having an uncomfortable face rash, and on top of that I explained to her that my dad's death anniversary was a few days away. Dr. Wendell handed me tissues and then just left me alone in the room to find my way out. I can acknowledge that PCP's don't have a lot of time to give out, but I was at my low trying to find answers or some type of relief; and she didn't even spend more than 5 minutes in the room with me. I contacted the office manager and left a voicemail in hopes to share my negative experience with her, but she never returned my phone call. I don't have much experience with other doctors in the office, but Claudia Wendell does not care about her patients and has lost all bed side manner or care. I will never return to her."
