"My family worked with pbs for a year with 4 of my kids. There was a new worker almost every week. Their rbt’s are extremely unprofessional and roamed my home freely without permission. Be careful, if you say or do anything that goes against what they want they will falsely report you to dcf. They had already been in my home for an entire year and everything was “fine” but when I disagreed with a technique they were using on my autistic son and refused to use it they falsely reported me to dcf and said my house was “filthy”. Of course everything was unsubstantiated quickly because I have other workers for my kids but that is so wrong to use your power to manipulate families. Oh and when I told them I was terminating services due to the false report the director for northeast kansas told me that was medical neglect. This company needs some serious investigation."
"We received services for nearly 2 years from PBS. There was always a lack of RBT'S and we never received services the full schedule recommended or approved. In the end it was decided our neighborhood is unsafe and they would no longer provide in home services instead suggesting I should take my 4 homeschooled children to an alternate location of their choice. When I received my children's discharge statement they listed every shortcoming they could think of with my home environment even including serious false allegations which would be reportable by mandatory reporters. It was unnecessary as I accepted termination of services since it was out of the question for me to meet them elsewhere for what is supposed to be in home services. If you live in a bad neighborhood be prepared for lack of full services and an absolutely insulting discharge statement from PBS upon termination of services. There were some RBT'S who were great and at times I felt supported and understood by the BCBA's but the end of services included an extreme lack of concern for my family and direct insult with lies mixed in among some truths."
"PBS likes to tout having no wait times for ABA. While we were able to get an assessment within a month of inquiring, we were then strung along for 6 months with no start of services in sight. After the assessment was completed we went for months with no communication from PBS or the provider. We had to track them down to find out what was happening. I am very aware of the national shortage of RBTs, but the complete lack of communicated and false promises are unacceptable. There was also incorrect billing happening. Ultimately we decided to stop pursuing services with PBS due to their unprofessionalism and concerns about the quality of service."
