"This is a Grand Old Building from its history and importance in the making of Nyssa. It was literally at one time only one of a handful of buildings that were put into place because of the railroad that was being built across the river on the Idaho side and along the Snake River on the Oregon side. It was to be used by the workers and others traveling through the area for .50 cents per night. Over the years it has been utilized as many different businesses such as a furniture store, restaurant and apartments."
