"I like living at Indian Hills Apartments in Pendleton. The manager, Cheryl Swales, does a good job. My only complaint is the washers and dryers in the laundry rooms here, They are out of order often. They are the kind that you use a credit or debit card to use. It is connected to the Internet. If the Internet isn't working, neither are the washers and dryers. If your card is slightly warn, you cant get the machines to work. They also take a $5.00 payment out of your account and then it is rectified the next day. I have started taking my laundry to the laundromat. I know of a few others that do the same."
"The Washington Park Apartments managed by Viridian in Milton Freewater Oregon are terrible place to live. More like a penitentiary and is managed like one too. The on site manager (Catherine Olsen) tries to control the tenants lives preventing them from enjoying their day peacefully. This isn't just my opinion ask anyone who currently lives there or has lived there since 2016 when she took the thrown. If you enjoy having your privacy invaded, harassed, photographed & watched by her own personal security guards, while also being recorded by surveillance cameras 24/7 anytime you step outside and she has a drone flying around sometimes watching over all of the tenants and even follows our guests when they leave sometimes all the way to their homes so she can get their addresses to trespass them when she randomly decides to without any real reason other than her made up stories. Unless you get into other tenants business and tell her everyone else's business to get on her good side she will violate you for anything she can find and when she can't find something she will change what the lease agreement says or add her own rule that doesn't exist in it and violate you for that and don't even dare try pointing out she is wrong about anything even when she is because she won't want to hear it and in her eyes you will always be wrong and she will always be right even with you trying to show her the proof to back up your claim and that will just get you on her worst side even though being on her good side isnt much better at all. Her office was targeted in a drive by shooting and was also burglarized all within a month and every tenants personal information that she keeps openly on her desk in her unsecured office that some teenagers were able to simply get into was stolen and afterwards several of us tenants identities were used to open fraudulent accounts from documents she left easily accessible to the criminals, including my own personal information being stolen and used by them. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit through an attorney over the matter for not informing any of us tenants about our personal information being stolen at all or keeping it secured in the first place so it wouldn't of been stolen."
"I like the grounds and the apt except for the kitchen cabinets and range hood. That hood is very old and very unsanitary. They put in a new stove but left that disgusting hood. I don't even want to cook on that stove. The burners do not heat up quickly,it takes forever to boil water. The cabinets are gross and very old. They remodeled some units but left others. I guess because we are older people,they think they can overlook us. All I asked for was a range hood. I can deal with the cabinets the manager here is onsight and is wonderful. It's Veridian that won't fix it."
"This place couldn’t be anymore of a joke, I have cracks in my walls and have had 4 inspections looking for cracks. Nothing has been noted or reported by the management. The manager at Surfview village is constantly threatening tenets to call the cops on them when they have done nothing wrong. Even after over a year of being here and management accepting rent checks from me monthly I’m still somehow an “unauthorized” guest. This company is a joke. If I were you I wouldn’t rent from them they will take your money make you sign a new lease every 2-3 months and not fix anything wrong with your apartment."
"I moved into their property known as Washington Park Apts in Milton Freewater, and it was like living in a correctional facility with all the restrictions and rules put against you. And sadly and unfortunately they don’t enforce all of their rules as what is stated in the lease! Catherine the onsite property manager is Arrogant, Rude, and Disrespectful in every aspect in her dealings with you. She clips notices outside your door without envelopes exposing your confidential information (see pic) when she needs to communicate with you. She will work diligently to find fault in you so that she can evict you for such petty things. I was recently evicted for having my furniture less than 12 inches from the baseboard heater, and for keeping an empty box outside on my patio! The apt. complex has an ant infestation problem where me and my neighbors dealt with ants crawling everywhere in the kitchen and bathroom and then they shrug you off when you ask for an exterminator to rid them (see pic) What a slap in the face to me as a tenant. They simply DO NOT care! I was out of town for a few days, and I come home to find a notice clipped outside my door indicating a 24 hour inspection of my unit. Well low and behold they came into my apt the next day while I was gone, and didn’t even leave a note indicating they were inside my unit (required by law). So Violating! Catherine the manager arrogantly and rudely told me that my work orders were false and that I never submitted them to the office. Absolute lie! When I moved in the linoleum had cuts and rips throughout the kitchen, dining room, hallway and bathroom floor. And the living room carpet was deplorable as well with it being bunched up and separating from the floor. And then when I addressed the carpeting with her on an inspection she callously says “This is not bad, and we have standards here”. Had re-inspection on my apt, Tony the maintenance man goes into my bathroom and does work under my sink that caused my sink to not drain and be plugged (see pic). And I never put in a work order for troubles with the sink! The sink worked beautifully before their hideous inspection where they tried finding fault with me in every aspect! Manager then goes into my bathroom to take pictures of my toilet after she already inspected it only a week ago, and didn’t notate any problems. If this management company truly did care about their tenant’s safety they would provide a fire extinguisher outside EVERY unit on every building. Not all buildings on the property have them! I’m disabled and lived on the second floor of the building where I essentially would have to run down two flights of steps and then to the downstairs neighbor’s door to retrieve an extinguisher (see pic). I even sent a formal complaint letter to the owner Doug Chrisman of Viridian to only have it passed off to a detached rude regional manager by the name of Ryan Pace who did absolutely nothing about it nor did he resolve any of my other issues here on this wretched property. I even escalated my concerns/issues to Patrick Patterson, the president of Viridian, and he simply brushed me off as well! In the 30 years since I have been renting, I have never endured so much abuse, hostility, harassment and intimidation from a management company! I will be escalating a complaint to the USDA Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights in Washington DC on my ordeal here as a tenant, and will pursue them in court for their heinous actions done towards me! If you want to live in a hostile, drama free environment and want to be treated with dignity and respect, then stay FAR AWAY from this ill-mannered detached company that could care less about you as a tenant! This management company recently acquired a property called the Montclair Manor here in Milton Freewater, so stay clear of that place! This is a fair warning to all renters out there: You will only find yourself being abused and harassed by them in any way shape or form! This company has NO BUSINESS managing any property. ZERO stars!!!"
