"Stayed at the Jennings again after having such a great stay last year. Nothing has changed. The hotel is great. The common area is awesome, the bathrooms are spotless and the rooms are exactly as pictured. I stayed in #2 and the balcony access was fantastic. I had to cut my stay short due to weather and Greg was more than accommodating to my needs and was quick to respond with my change request. I hope to stay again in a few months when I come back!"
"Great spot- very fun and historic with refined modern aesthetic. All shared spaces were very clean and well furnished, and the overall charm of the building is lovely. We ended up adding a second night since our first night in Joseph was so fun. Sauna is a great feature- definitely my favorite feature and the reason we chose to stay here"
"We just spent the Labor Day weekend in Joseph at the Jennings Hotel. I must say what a breath of fresh air to stay in such a well curated, minimalist style beautiful old building. The amenities were perfect, the space, super comfortable. For a small town of only just over 1000 people, this place is gorgeous. The Aaesop was an added bonus, and so was having a bath. Room 10 was nothing short of amazing. Loved every minute."
"Pretentiously minimalist. I'm a fan of boutique hotels and love that people are rebuilding gems in our rural Western towns. I have been waiting for an excuse to go to the Jennings, just living on the other side of the Wallowas. But rebuilding/restoring is a far stretch for the Jennings Hotel. We stayed in room #11, and it felt like a bunker. There is plenty of room for more than a sofa on the main floor. How about a coffee table, maybe a desk? At the exorbitant price, you get a hard sofa where you can stare at a plywood wall. If you stare out the window instead, you see parked cars through a broken, taped window. The stairs to the loft were ridiculous. A ladder would have been safer, and there was plenty of room to create comfortable transport to what was a comfy bed. When you lay in bed, the street lights shined in with no way to shade. Thankfully there were earplugs because I could literally hear people snoring and getting it on upstairs and next door. Maybe that is why they don't allow children under 12. I was so looking forward to the communal, clothing-optional sauna, but it wasn't clean, and providing robes should be a given. The only good thing about this example of neo-colonialism in "The County" was the tub in room #11. Given the state of the sauna, I can't imagine the expensive rooms that have to share a bathroom. The last disappointment was how unaccommodating this accommodation was. I requested an hour extra check out and was willing to pay an extra $50. My request was not accepted because it was their busy time. Interesting, since #11 wasn't booked the next day."
"A few days away for our anniversary, Joseph was far enough without leaving and going too far from home. Our cat doesn’t handle our absence well. So, a 6hr drive was perfect. The Jennings Hotel was mentioned recently in something I was reading, I was hooked! We loved the location, the simple and soft decor and the ease in the whole experience over all. It was great to stay and park downtown and never need our car for the few days we stayed. Our room was clean and we felt comfortable. We were impressed with many things and only desired two during our stay. Washcloths and AC. We are experiencing an unusually warm October so AC would have been great and a few washcloths would have been great but I did bring my own which I always do anyways. Loved the nice hair and body wash btw. Now I want some! Thanks for the great stay and inspiration:)!!"
