"I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the mistreatment, racism, and harassment I experienced at the Walmart Pharmacy. The level of service provided by the pharmacists was extremely poor. The first African American pharmacist repeatedly asked for my date of birth, consistently misinterpreting my birth year from 1990 to 1993. Consequently, he was unable to locate my prescription. To make matters worse, he wrongfully accused me of misspelling the month, which was not the case. When the manager, whose first name starts with 'D,' took over, he also asked for my date of birth, claimed he couldn't find it, and insisted on checking my ID. He then accused me of misspelling my birth year as 1994 instead of 1990. Prior to my visit, I called the pharmacy to inquire about the readiness of my prescription. A lady, after asking for my birthday just once, promptly located my information and confirmed that it was ready for pickup. I felt mistreated and racially discriminated against by these two individuals solely because of my Asian background. It appears they deliberately played a prank on me due to my non-white ethnicity. As a graduate student who has lived in this country for seven years, I am confident in my English proficiency, which has been approved and complimented by my committee members. Pronunciation is not the issue here, as my American husband's assistance has helped minimize any potential accent concerns. I have picked up prescriptions at this location three times before without any issues with other pharmacists. This incident, however, was a clear demonstration of racist and sexist behavior. It is disheartening that bias and discrimination still exist against individuals who are not originally from this country. I hope this issue is addressed promptly to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of their background."
"Well, here we go again. I had thought Walmart pharmacy had finally gotten it together and actually had a decent pharmacist. WRONG!! Once again Walmart gets to play doctor and God. What in the world is going on at this place??? Following a painful surgery earlier this year I was denied a narcotic prescription because the pharmacist thought she knew more than myself or THE PRESCRIBING PHYSICIAN about my own body. I had it moved to a different pharmacy and got it filled no problems. Now they can't get my normal monthly rx filled, may not happen today as per the pharmacist(this is the 4th time in 6 months)for a medication I NEED to take around the same time, EVERY DAY! I have now had to request my physician to send a new rx to a different pharmacy(another up to 24hr wait)that doesn't have a God complex. Apparently it's funny to the techs "in training" when a patient can't get their medication and the pharmacist offered zero resolution nor could he explain the sudden "issue" and in fact hung up on me. This place is off the rails. I have contacted legal counsel and I would love to hear from others about their negative experiences here as there's potential for a class action lawsuit. It's well known that Walmart only gets the bottom of the barrel of pharmacists(this coming from 4 separate medical doctors)letting people go without necessary medication is beyond wrong, it's illegal and very dangerous. I know that Wal-Mart won't do anything, I've brought up multiple, legitimate, issues with this pharmacy throughout the years and rarely is there a resolution. I can't imagine how these people sleep at night. I'm sitting here wondering if it's some kind of sick game the pharmacists play, like who can deny the most prescriptions this week or maybe it's like bingo where they daub out things like "I denied 5 rx today", "I made 1 person die this week", "I played judge, jury and God today","I laughed at 5 patients", "I hung up on 10 people". SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG AT THIS PHARMACY AND WALMART NEEDS TO FIX IT!! I know, I shouldn't keep giving them a chance. Unfortunately, They're the only place open on Sundays and sometimes my medication needs filled on the weekend. I am hoping that I never have to return and that more people come forward. PLEASE, if Walmart has denied you a legitimate prescription, let's all band together and stop this madness! You may not get a big paycheck but think of all the people we can save from the same hell. Sick and twisted...."
"They were okay for a while, but then I needed a medicine that was vital to have by a certain day. I gave them 4 days and they not only failed to get my medicine, they failed to notify me of that! I had to call them and stay on them to even know. My medicine is an opioid and is needed for pain, but it also causes withdrawals, which is why I requested it on a Friday for my need on Tuesday. So not only did they fail, but when I asked the pharmacist "what can I expect from the withdrawals that I'll experience due to you guys not getting it together? " instead of answering me, she denies me service and tells me to go elsewhere! How dare I ask the pharmacist a medical question regarding a situation *they caused*? If a manager sees this, the pharmacist working 11/09/21 at about 2:30pm needs to maybe not talk to people ever. If she can't handle telling me symptoms of the withdrawals that are walmarts fault, she needs training. I already hit problems at every step I take with any medical issues, a walmart pharmacist doesn't need to be another one. She can take the time to transfer my prescriptions since she wants to refuse service for me asking her a medical question related to the medicine walmart didn't notify me about being late. If you need competent, I'm not so sure this is the pharmacy for you. Will update if the situation changes. Update: The DM called me back and I explained to him what happened. He took ownership of the problem and promised to fix it. As a chronic pain patient, this little step goes a long way. He provided that he would talk to the pharmacist and manager. I'll update once again when I get my next refill."
"Please listen to the reviews because I made the choice of having my prescription sent here and it was a disaster. I have never had an issue with my insurance before but for some reason I waited for 45 minutes for them to repeatedly input my information into the system and then to be told that my insurance wouldn't work. I agreed to pay the $33 even though it should have been free but then I realized that I had forgotten my debit card so I ended up having to return later. The person that had helped me before had forgotten where he placed my medication so after 40 minutes or so of waiting, they refilled it with another one that was more expensive. On a positive note, I will say that the man helping me that time was very nice and apologetic but it was a frustrating experience. Well, then, I went over to the pharmacist to have him explain how to take the medication and he mocked my prescription. I have anxiety and he said loudly in front of other customers, "Oh, so you have fright? What are you frightened of? Do you have a big presentation coming up soon?" while laughing and smirking. I found that to be really humiliating so that was the final straw for me. I will never have my prescriptions sent here again."
"Had a horrible experience on 12/03/2020. I called to check on the status of a prescription, and was told to come in at 1:00pm over the phone. I arrived at 1:00pm, and a pharmacist brings up my prescription, and asks for my insurance. I showed her my digital insurance card, and after 35 minutes of incorrectly entering my birthday (because apparently she couldn't hear me after asking for it 5-10 times, I was trying to be polite and not draw attention to us, but I was practically shouting my birthday and this older pharmacist still could not hear me) AND incorrectly entering my insurance numbers, she pulls me aside and writes all of my information down on a sticky note. However, despite having the correct information written down, she continued to type the information incorrectly into her computer. While all of this is happening, several other pharmacists and the one helping me ask me to leave because apparently every single one of them goes to lunch at 1:00pm, despite that being the time I was told to come pick up this prescription. No one would help this pharmacist either despite her numerous attempts to get help, as they were all more concerned with their lunch break, and after almost an hour of watching this pharmacist try to enter in my birthday and insurance information I finally gave up. I told her I would just pay for the prescription without insurance, which cost $37 and would have otherwise been free with my insurance. While all of this was happening, several other customers who had also called ahead to pick up a prescription and were also told to come in at 1:00pm over the phone were told to leave and come back at 2:00pm, and I watched 3 other people get very frustrated and attempt to complain to a pharmacist about the situation - the pharmacist walked away while the customer was still talking (politely at this point too, about how this was their mistake and they shouldn't have to wait over an hour to have it fixed) and hollered over her shoulder to come back at 2:00pm. I found the whole exchange to be incredibly rude and unprofessional, and I shouldn't have to pay nearly $40 for a free prescription with insurance because a pharmacist cannot hear me practically yelling my birthday at them, read my information from my insurance card, or type it in correctly into a computer. Will not be filling my prescriptions here in the future."
