"We just finished a multi day bike trip including a ride up the St Joe River and we stayed in many nice places along the way. The best by far was the Avery Schoolhouse B&B! Owner/operators Kathy and Randy were a delight and made us (we rented the whole house) feel at home. The place was clean and very well appointed with comfortable beds and very nice BRs."
"Kathy was VERY accommodating when putting up our cycling group. Some churn with our participants which she handled well and without complaint. Great location and rooms in a scenic area"
"This place is located across a small street from the beautiful St Joe River on the side opposite the busier river road and the rest of the town of Avery. Excellent choice for our flyfishing trip. It is a bit of a work in progress. The innkeepers are a friendly, hard-working couple. There was some construction going on during our stay and we were there during a lull between two large groups of guests, so they were a little behind in restocking things. They have two well-behaved small dogs who provide entertainment and a prehistoric-looking African desert tortoise who slowly wanders around between the gift shop and the backyard. We used the owners' grill to make a couple of dinners as the restaurant options nearby are very limited. We had a great stay."
"Just a bit late posting my review as we stayed in September, 2021. We absolutely loved our stay at the schoolhouse. The hosts, Kathy and Randy are very kind. We were entertained with local stories while Kathy prepared delicious omelets for our breakfast. The history of the area is so interesting. We are currently reading books about the early days along the St. Joe and the old settlers. Can't wait to return in 2022!"
