"I’ve been going to this pharmacy for years but because of one rude pharmacist (rph) I will never go to CVS again. Before vacation I followed the proper steps to request a new fill early. My provider authorized an early fill date on the prescription, but the rph refused to fill it. I politely questioned why the rph wouldn’t fill it (even with MD approval). The rph was very short and rude. The pharmacy assistant and technicians had clearly adapted to this rph controlling patients fill dates, but they were still uncomfortable. The rph said the DEA requires providers to indicate the fill date and reason. Because my MD didn’t include vacation as the “reason” for the early fill date, the rph wouldn’t fill it. My last fill was 11/12. I went to the pharmacy on 12/12 (exactly 30 days later). Even though my MD wrote “May fill 12/11” the rph still wouldn’t fill it because I picked up the November rx on 11/18. According to her logic, I shouldn’t be able to FILL my medication until 12/18. I picked up the rx late in November because this pharmacy is notorious for running out. Additionally, their IVR did NOT notify me that my script was ready on 11/12. Regardless of my last pick up date, I was still going to run out of my rx on my 9 day vacation. How out of touch is this rph? Does she think that every patient has the scheduling ability to drop everything the day their prescription is filled and pick it up the same day?! The rph said I could call MD so he could provide reasoning to her. As it was nearing 5pm, I called their office. The RN and MA had never heard of this “regulation”, and were very confused (even after running a PDMP report to show that I was not abusing any medication, provider, pharmacy, or any other system). My MDs office gave me their direct # and said they would speak to the rph. I got back in the rx line and provided the tech with the phone #. The rph, from across the pharmacy, shouted that she would not call their office for me. She said the phone # I obtained could be answered by anyone and she would have no way to confirm who she was speaking to. She said that the reason for an early fill had to be in writing. After being a pharmacy tech for over 10 years, I questioned this “DEA regulation”. The rph back-peddled and said it’s not a DEA regulation, but a Washington State regulation. By this time my MDs office was closed. The technician had empathy in her face and offered to call me when they got it sorted out. I had to have my mom mail my medication to Hawaii and got it at the end of my trip. I continued to question the authority this rph clearly enjoyed having. My mother is a PharmD who contacted the WSU Drug Information Center. They confirmed there is no DEA regulation and there is no WA State regulation. After speaking with several other pharmacists, my mom learned that it’s likely a CVS policy controlling the fill date based on the last pick up date. If this unrealistic restriction requiring patients to fill their C-IIs exactly 30 days after the last pick-up date is truly a CVS policy, the rph should have been transparent about the reasoning. Instead, she threw empty threats of large governing agencies at patients so she doesn’t have to explain herself or CVS policy. The following day, after a lot of research and my MD contacting the pharmacy, my PharmD mother went to CVS. She asked to speak with the rph I dealt with. My mother confronted her with the information she found and the rph was extremely short, rude, and dismissive (yet again). When my mom told her she was a PharmD and she did research and had never hear of this “regulation” the rph said “well, you should know if you’re a pharmacist”. My mother left saying I would be transferring my scripts, to which the rph was suddenly nice and basically begged my mom to keep my business. Hard pass."
"several times the CVS in Target on Regal & Palouse Hwy. has closed during their regularly scheduled hours without any prior notice the day or days prior and there was no communication about these unexpected closures. No text messages. We even received a text message that same day telling us our prescription was ready for pick-up. I’m ready to switch to a pharmacy that is more reliable and has better communication."
"They are so thoughtful, kind, helpful , I did not talk about shot because I was sick and my doctor advised against it for now. Not cashiers fault. They always have shown complete respect even when I'm a blithering idiot. I only wish they took over the counter card. I do all my shopping groceries, clothes some pet supplies toys for my great grandkids. I can't say enough good. I will say I do like Walgreens they take my over the counter card from United health that's my only complaint . Oh they also saved me from being ripped off of 5000. Thousand bucks. Thank you CVS and Target. The women's underwear is a mess sometimes but that's all. Thank you Again Target for CVS. Mary Wilborn sincerely use what you want here. I don't mind part or all.Have a happy 2024."
"Went to use a $100 gift card that is valid.. even called number on back of card to verify.. Won't ever go there again.. unable to use even though it is from CVS ... but there are restrictions.. go figure... have to use at a CVS not one inside a store .. waited in a long slow lane to found out ... closest one is 400 miles away... not worth gas to use and yes I am switching insurance company... waste of time !!! If I could leave no star I would.."
