Reviews of St. Luke's Center for Breast Imaging: Boise
"Staff was very warm and cordial. Made my procedure very calming and as comfortable as possible. Thanks St. Luke's!"
"I have used this center several times. The staff are professional and efficient. They go above and beyond to meet the patients needs. I would say that it can be hard to get an appointment but that everyone does actually call you back if you leave a number and name. I would also add that the whole process is confusing. In my experience, if you're getting a diagnostic mammogram, it's a good idea to talk to your general practitioner or OBGYN to have them explain it to you - what's happening, what the results mean. It can set your mind at ease. I feel like I am in good hands, even though the wait times seem agonizing! I appreciate everyone there."
"I had my annual mammogram in March and I was told that the image was unclear and I needed to go in for additional screening. I asked if it would be covered by my insurance (my husband works for St Luke's) and was told it would be because it was necessary in order to get a clear image and make sure there weren't any concerns. Weeks later, I received a bill in the mail for over 200 dollars. Apparently, any additional screening is considered diagnostic and subject to deductible and copay. I tried to dispute it but St. Luke's basically says it's my responsibility. So ladies be warned; the first one is free but the next one will cost you. I have the means to pay for this now but a few years ago this would have been financially crippling. It kills me that women have to choose between peace of mind or just take the risk and wait for next year's annual mammogram."
"I got an email saying that my appointment was at 3 PM with directions to the Boise center and address I put the address into my GPS it takes me straight to St. Luke’s not the imaging center. I get there a little before 3 PM and they told me that my first appointment was at 2:30 PM Why on earth would you ever send out two emails for the same appointment I understand it’s two different procedures but they’re in the same building. I was going there for a diagnostic test which I had to wait a month for. And because they sent me two different emails and I only had the 3 o’clock one they decided that they couldn’t do either one of the procedures even though one of them was scheduled for three. So now it’s November 12 and I have to wait until December 20th this is unacceptable when you tell somebody that there’s something wrong with their body I understand that it’s not your body so you really don’t care but it’s scary and it seems like this hospital has no sympathy or any way to prioritize what should be important. I hope to God this turns out to be nothing because no thanks to you I have to wait!"
"I was referred for diagnostic breast imagining after an abnormal finding at my GP. The scheduler said the soonest appointment was FIVE WEEKS away which I find unacceptable for a diagnostic mammogram. Why don't they prioritize diagnostic mammograms over routine ones? I am 39 and if I do indeed have breast cancer, a month could make a huge difference in level of involvement and suvivability. I'm scared and feel like an unimportant cog in the wheel."
