Cecil D. Andrus Park 601 West Jefferson Street, Boise, ID 83702
About the Business
Cecil D. Andrus Park is a charming 2-acre mini park located in downtown Boise, Idaho, just across Jefferson Street from the State Capitol. This park features beautiful brick walkways, mature shade trees, colorful flower beds, picnic tables, and park benches for visitors to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The park underwent a major beautification project called "Let Freedom Ring" in 2007, which transformed it into a central meeting place for downtown workers, residents, and visitors to the State Capitol. The project included a central plaza to honor the men and women who serve in the military or public service, funded by the Golden Garden Club of Boise and supported by grants from various organizations.
Visitors can also find engraved bricks, sandstone blocks, and plaques honoring service members throughout the park, as well as recycling bins for newspapers, aluminum cans, and plastic beverage bottles as part of the Downtown Recycling Program. Cecil D. Andrus Park is a peaceful oasis in the heart of downtown Boise, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing break in nature.

"We went to the Idaho Potato Drop and had a great time listening to the live music, watching the high flying skiers and snowboarders, and enjoying some delicious food!"
"We were at the park and then the Capital for the Capital tree lighting ceremony. They had the Honor choir from Cecil D Andrus elementary and a choir from IFAA as well as saxophone quartet all performing Christmas music and then the coutdown to the tree lighting. It was Amazing!!!! True Christmas spirit being shared with cookies and coco to boot."
"Smaller of the parks but right across from Idaho state capitol. We had to download a parking app for metered parking with Max time 2 hrs for about $3.60. Beautiful park."
"Honoring the late great multi-term Idaho governor, Cecil D. Andrus, this renamed park (by former Boise Mayor Bieter) has become a hub for cultural gatherings such as Boise Pride, Goathead Fest and Global Village. Situated right in front of the Idaho Statehouse it is an excellent forum for political activism and community celebration."
