"This place is near my workplace. I usually come here and get the lunch special combination box for $13. Last week I came by and wanted to change up my order. I ordered a roll (which had more rice than the filling, it was falling apart, Avocado looked like it was left out for awhile, it turned black) my 2nd bite into it I felt like I needed to vomit. Something was just not right. I had to stop eating and I was waiting for the waitress to come to my table but no one was around so I finished my vegetable tempura and just got up, paid and left. Very disappointing at this point. Probably will not return back."
"My partner and I came on a Sunday for date night. We noticed it was pretty slow for it being dinner time on a Sunday. That being said the food was amazing. Gyoza was delicious along with the house salad and miso soup. I tried 3 different sushi rolls (which were half price). BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD. My partner got chicken katsu and it was amazing. 3 chicken breasts crispy and amazing. Service was good. She came and checked on us through our meal. The food took a bit of time but nothing terrible."
"Can't go wrong with any dish. Hibachi chicken was great although it could have used less sauce. Same deal with the steak dinner. Both came with soup and salad. Sushi surprised me with the large portion and it is well worth the price."
"Review: Tokyo Japan Restaurant on West Street, Wichita, KS I recently dined at Tokyo Japan Restaurant on West Street in Wichita, KS, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The restaurant offers a variety of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, soups, and steak, but there were some areas that fell short. Starting with the soup, it was served warm, but I found that it lacked some flavors that I was expecting. As someone who enjoys bold and rich flavors in soups, I was a bit disappointed with the taste. The sushi, on the other hand, was good despite falling apart. The presentation was visually appealing, and the taste was enjoyable. However, I did notice that some of the sushi rolls were not tightly rolled and tended to fall apart when picked up with chopsticks, which was a bit inconvenient. Moving on to the seating, I was seated in one of the booths, but I found that the seats were worn-out and uncomfortable. The cushions were flattened, and it detracted from the overall comfort of the dining experience. One highlight of the meal was the steak my wife ordered, which was cooked medium rare. She thoroughly enjoyed it and mentioned that it was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavor. This was one of the highlights of our meal. Unfortunately, the service was lacking in some areas. We did not receive any refills for our drinks, which was disappointing and left us feeling a bit neglected. In terms of the ambiance, the restaurant had a casual and relaxed atmosphere with Japanese-themed decor, but the worn-out seating did affect the overall impression. In conclusion, my experience at Tokyo Japan Restaurant on West Street in Wichita, KS had some ups and downs. While the sushi was good, the soup lacked flavors, the seating was worn-out, and the service was not up to par. However, the steak was a standout dish, cooked to perfection. If improvements are made in the areas of flavor, seating, and service, it could enhance the overall dining experience at this restaurant."
"Tokyo Japanese Cuisine didn’t not disappoint! Nice, very clean facility, and friendly prompt service were apparent when walking in. Large menu with options for Sushi lovers and non sushi alike. Solid food, huge cuts of sashimi, excellent flavors. Next time your looking for sushi on the west side, give this one a try!"
