"Came back here after many years to bring my son to see the park I used to love. Absolutely breaks my heart how poor condition the state of the park is in now. I don't even understand how it's legal to have such a dangerous unkempt park open to the public and to children none the less. The entire bark area is covered In some sort of Thorney plants, my son and I were covered in thorns and splinters after just 5 minutes walking through attempting to play. All the play structures made of wood look old moldy and like they'll break at any moment. The smaller slide has a giant gash in the plastic that can cut your child up. The bigger slide, has an insanely high drop off at the bottom of the slide and waiting for your child at the bottom of the huge fall, is those thorney plants all surrounding the landing. Thankfully I went down the slide with my son before I realized this, and even as a grown adult sitting at the edge of the slide my feet couldn't reach near the ground. So high and dangerous for children!!!! So not only will your child risk breaking a bone at the bottom of the slide if they dont stop in time, but they'll be covered in thorns and splinters too. Like I said I'm not sure how this is even legal to have this playground open to the public. It's unfortunate the parks department collects our taxes happily but dosnt even keep our parks safe and up to date. Not to mention, the fabric from underneath the bark sticks up everywhere, my child kept trying to play with it. Disgusting and a tripping hazard a d it's not even doing its job keeping weeds down as the playground is covered in thorny plants."
"Wonderful quiet park, lots of space for my pup, lots of small trails where my directionally impaired self never gets lost, it's fun seeing the resident turkeys every day, and occasionally spot some deer"
"Went there and ate some food we picked up on Halloween night. Walked around and took some pics. It's defintely got a spooky vibe at night. We didn't hear any laughing, but strange occurances. There was a red flashing toy right in front of the buildings door that never stopped blinking..We thought we seen a person walking in the tree line, but noticed later a deer in that direction? Also a dog who ignored us and made a straight shot to the tree line, then to the playground, then left. He was a few feet away but never acknowledged us. Also a random cat in a tree. Idk the whole thing was strange and felt off. Some pics I randomly took that night."
"One of best exploration or hiking areas in Spokane County. If one ponders about the self evident forms of rock scattered around as if by a catastrophic storm. ?? Possibly ancient structure's marveled through time. Great family picnics."
