"I was visiting my son from out of town and needed to make a few repairs to his apartment. I needed a small 3/4" piece of wood about 4" wide by 8" long. I asked at the front counter if they had anything like that and was told no sorry. I asked if they had any scrap bins anywhere that I could look through. The gentleman behind the counter said sure and pointed me towards the back. In the bin I didn't find anything but on the floor was a 3' long piece of 3/4" about 4" wide. Not only did they just give it to me they also cut it down to the 8" length I was looking for. I asked if I could give them a few bucks for the time and the wood and was told no. Now how often do you run into service like that where they not only help but since it was going in the garbage anyway... no charge. I will definitely be back. Thank you Jim's Lumber."

"They are by far our favorite hardware store in town. They almost always have what we need, their staff are knowledgeable and able to help us with any questions we have, their prices are also often the best in town. They even gave my husband a few roof tiles and told him what else he needed to install them after a few blew off the roof in a bad storm. All around nice people with good prices to boot! They always remember my husband when he comes in too. Seriously great people with great prices."

"I've posted two other bad reviews about this place and they are not posted. So I've hide t his with a good rating. The employees asked me what I need. I said I'm not sure. He rolled his eyes. I said that's why I was asking him. I felt like I was bothering him asking his opinion. I've lived in Mtn home for 35 years and only been in the store twice and been treated rudely both times."
