"Not good at handling autistic kids. The first appointment (cleaning) was fine. I had to stand at the front desk for 10 minutes, ringing the bell twice in that time for anyone to come. But the hygienist was accommodating and really nice to my autistic 4yo, allowing her to sit in my lap for her cleaning. They found 2 cavities and I explained to them ahead of time that she has sensory issues and our last dentist had warned us she might need to be sedated for dental work. They seemed to understand and I set up an appointment for her cavity fillings. We got there today for that appointment and my daughter again refused to get in the chair by herself. They wouldn’t let me sit with her this time and couldn’t sedate her which I understand. I’m not upset about that. But the dentist was honestly rude saying he “didn’t have it in him to deal with it” and that we would just have to pay out of pocket for sedation elsewhere because no one who accepts Idaho Medicaid could/would do it. We left and I found a dentist who accepted Medicaid, would accommodate her sensory needs, and could sedate her if needed within an hour. If you’re not equipped to handle autistic children, maybe put in any amount of effort to find someone to refer them to. We will not be back."

"I have been in the office before for my daughters care and always been treated well. Dr Patten is great with communication, explanations and questions answered. I myself have not had any care for a long long time, and just had had a tooth pulled. Being that I have not been to a dentist in that long time I was nervous about it. The entire staff is very welcoming and treated me with nothing less than respect. The entire going to the dentist experience, starting with the waiting room, is quite pleasant here!"
