"The location is nice. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive. Holding a foodie conversation with my 12 year old nephew with great respect and engagement was a highlight of the night. We went the day before Christmas Eve and that could account for the sheer lack of patronage. We were one of three tables at 6:30p. The food, while good, seemed overpriced for the portion. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were ok but you receive two small slices, think half of a biscotti stick, atop a small scoop of potatoes. We also had the Mac n cheese which definitely stole the show. It was creamy and rich but not overdone. The rest of the table ordered other items where the portions seemed better in some than others. I would return but perhaps be more selective in what I order."

"Wonderful dining experience! Returned here nearly 7 years after my first visit to Spokane. Had the Thai rice bowl back then and dreamed about it for years before having it again a few nights ago! It was as delicious now as it had been then. Just the right amount of spice, balanced nicely by the coconut and rice. Pleasant texture of veggies, rice, and peanuts. I'm not sure if I could have requested more chicken, but if I had thought to ask, I would have. It was just really delicious! Ordered the hummus trio appetizer and especially liked the beet version. The service was spot on. Well-timed checks, not pushy, friendly, and responsive. You really should try SPH. It's very worth your time. It had just snowed, but the patio looks wonderful for warmer times of the year."

"This is a spot I've never even considered because the term "public house" has typically meant that the food & drink is out of my price range or too sophisticated for my delicate palate. Someone else chose this place for a co-worker's going away dinner so I was obliged to attend. Not sorry that I did. The place itself is very nice inside. Overall very quiet for a place its size. The menu offered a decent variety of entrees and appetizers but not too many to be overwhelming. In retrospect, I'm regretting not ordering the pretzel and beer cheese as someone else did at our did--that looked delicious. As for the food we DID order, I'd definitely order again. I had the Mac & cheese with pulled pork the at was a big bowl of cheesy noodles with some nicely cooked and well flavored pork. My wife ordered the grilled meatloaf which was a couple of big slabs of meat presently very nicely with mashed potatoes & gravy. She said the only thing she'd have liked to see is maybe a green veg. Since this was a weeknight, servers were sparse but ours was attentive enough, especially since we were there longer than a typical group would be."
