"Exceeded my expectations. It was GREAT food! Very standard open Chinese restaurant atmosphere. This is not a special date atmosphere but an awesome- “let’s go get Chinese food and Sushi” kind of place. Had the Habachi, Broccoli Beef and Christmas roll. All were fantastic! Highly recommended for putting in your food routine."
"We ordered our food to be delivered. It arrived quickly and packaged very nicely! I’d say one of the best delivers we have had! Food was very fresh and hot! You could tell the ingredients that they use are high quality. We have finally found our favorite Chinese food in town! Great job! If you’ve not tired them yet, do it! You won’t be disappointed!"
"Great food and service. It's an old building but it is definitely worth the stop. Great sushi. The pokee mixed fish bowl is awesome."
"On 7/28/23, KM and I visited Sushi Joy in Boise for dinner. We had visited a couple of times before, but it had been several years. During past visits, we had excellent food and service. Sushi Joy has been around for 12+ years. The original owners were from Boston, where they had a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Approx. six years ago, one of their chefs, Mr. Lee, took over the business. The menu remained the same. Sushi Joy is able to do a great job providing two separate cuisines, because they have 5 chefs, including 2 sushi chefs, each with their own areas of expertise. KM and I ordered 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, and dessert. We ate family-style: Pu Pu Platter for 1 ($16.95) – 2 Egg Rolls, 2 Crab Rangoon, 2 Chicken Fingers, 2 Fried Shrimp, Pork and Seeds. It was served with Duck sauce and hot mustard. I asked for a small side of ketchup. Everything was excellent! The eggrolls were delicious! The crab Rangoon were nicely stuffed. The shrimp and chicken fingers were perfectly fried. The pork was nicely cooked. General Tso’s Chicken ($14.95) - Crispy fried chunks of chicken in house special sauce. They use white meat chicken that is lightly battered. This is a dish we ordered on a previous visit. It is excellent! It is the best version of this dish that we have ever had. House Special Fried Rice ($13.95) - This fried rice is chock-full of delicious meat and vegetables! It was excellent! Sizzling Green Pepper Beef ($14.95) - Tender beef, onions, green pepper, celery, and carrots, cooked with black bean sauce. This was the only dish neither of us cared for. The beef and vegetables were perfectly cooked, but we found it a bit too salty. Walnut Shrimp ($15.95) - Fried shrimp with caramelized walnuts in a sweet creamy sauce. This is a dish we ordered on a previous visit. It was excellent! For dessert, we ordered 4 flavors of Mochi Ice Cream ($11) - Green Tea, Mango, Red Bean, and Vanilla + Lychee Ice Cream ($5.50). I love mochi ice cream and I’m a bit of an ice cream fanatic. These were not the best mochi ice creams I’ve ever had, but they were pretty good. Our favorite flavor was mango, followed by green tea, and red bean. Neither of us liked the vanilla mochi ice cream, which had a grainy texture. We both enjoyed the Lychee ice cream, which was more like a sorbet. Our dinner at Sushi Joy was so stellar that I asked, “Why would we ever want to go anyplace else for Chinese food?” KM agreed. If you’re looking for a good Chinese food in Idaho, be sure to check out Sushi Joy! Highly Recommended!!!"
"This was our first time to Sushi Joy. The menu was a little overwhelming because they have so much different food! The sushi, made by Lee, was AMAZING!! He is a master at making sushi. It was so fresh! We will definitely go here again!"
