"Hunted bear and turkey w Boulder Creek. Terrible experience. Even though bear success rate was 5 for 6 hunters, total weight of the 5 bears wasn't over #700. That's being generous. They guarantee shot opportunity. They put 3 hunters on the same small bear till someone finally shot it. Turkeys will call shy , as they were chased and called at for a month already. Guy that ran the camp,Brian , was very unprofessional. Would not recommend BCO to anyone. Never got a call from Matt to ask how the hunt went. Thumbs DOWN!"

"The guides were okay, they left me in a tree stand in the middle of a thunder storm tho. The company them selves did not help at all for my hunt. Not letting me know that I would sit in a blind for up to 8 hours. They did not tell me what I really needed and what I really didn’t need. The horses we rode the guides did not know them and have not had the time to work with them. While I was there one of the other customers saddle went right over there mule they were riding. The company really doesn’t care about you they just want your money. The stand I was in was really small and it was going to fall apart. The my guide had never hunted spring bears before either. Last year they called me 48 hours before I was going to go to the hunt and canceled my trip and told me I couldn’t go for a year. I should have canceled then and there. It is a not hunters hunt. For someone who does not like to hunt and likes to sit that is not very stable for 6 to 8 hours. With no guide. They take you to a site and tell you not to move. Very disappointing. I went after spring bears 2023. These pictures are of the 10 thousand pounds of bait they use for the hunt. Which is cookie dough, rice crispy treats and pop tarts."

"So let me start by saying that my recent beer hunt was an awesome experience because of the scenery and the chance to spend time with my son! We both harvested bears on the first evening of our hunt and the Hells Canyon area is absolutely beautiful and like no other place I’ve ever been!! The area we hunted (Joseph camp) was crawling with game (bears, elk, deer & turkey). Joseph camp was certainly acceptable in terms of a hunting camp (don’t expect well maintained cabins) and the cook & guides were willing to do whatever you asked (again don’t expect anything much above what is required). However, the lack of communication and organization from the owners/management is VERY lacking in regards to getting trip info., scheduling, expectations, etc… I had several issues from the start with getting Matt to respond to me in regards to travel, what camp I’d be hunting (this seemed to be a moving target that would often result in me reminding him which camp I was booked at), confusion on payments and basic communication that would be SO helpful to the clients that either didn’t happen or had to be requested over and over… However, because of the beautiful area and the obvious amount of game I had decided to try to return next fall for an elk hunt along with several other hunter friends…. BUT…. after numerous attempts to communicate with Matt to get a quote and have a conversation with him about the logistics and not getting the promised info (tomorrow?), I finally sent him a message saying that I was very disappointed in his communication and would be looking elsewhere for my future hunt. No response from Matt… I’m really sad that this is the case and it’s truly disappointing that there is no effort put forth to ensure your returning customers are given any type of assistance other than “I’ll email you tomorrow “. So I’ll close with saying Boulder creek outfitters has SO much to offer but the communication and customer service is VERY lacking! I heard this from everyone else in our camp as well….hope this can serve as constructive and will help improve what could be the best outfitter in Idaho! Brad Smith"

"I went there this year for my first hunt. I had a great time and took my first bear on the first night. I've never seen such hard working folks to get ya on a bear. The camp cook Lee was great! Great food and always had coffee in the morning. I'm already looking forward for my next trip next year."
