"An establishment named after the sketchy retirement home I threaten my mom with now that I am over 40 (sorry mom, you came at me one too many times with that wooden spoon, enjoy Bingo and custard night). I thoroughly enjoy this iconic little County-Cafe nettled on HWY 44. The food is good and exactly right for the price you pay. The staff is efficient. Rude? No. They just don't care to be an ally for whatever foolishness you identify as nor do seek to learn your silly pronouns."
"Good customer service and the store is pretty well stocked. I haven't stopped here in years so I was a bit sad to see that it seems to have gone downhill a bit but I'm happy to see they are still in business."
"I wish I could leave a positive thing here. However the practices of food handling and food safety are a MAJOR CONCERN. The staff within the cafe are inexperienced. I’ve witnessed the worst cross contamination I’ve seen in a kitchen happen here and the owner continues to allow it. Food being served out of dirty dishes. Being cooked on dirty grills. If you’ve had diarrhea from here it’s probably due to the lack of cleaning. The bacon you eat on your burgers is either old old bacon as pictured. Or it’s probably not cooked throughly. I’ve witnessed a 75 year old customer clean up the dumpster area and inside the cafe because again staff won’t do it. They have removed so many things from the menu all because they don’t want to learn how to properly prepare and serve the food. As the removed review that forcefully removed by shady acres skip this place. Go to Jackson’s. If you do stop in here…just ask for directions to the next gas station."
"Was recommended here for breakfast burritos. Came in and ordered a breakfast burrito to go and was extremely disappointed in the service. Got treated like I was an inconvenience to the workers. While I was waiting for my food someone walked up and was waiting for over 10 minutes to get help in putting his order. I was running late for work and when I finally got the attention of one of the workers to ask her if the burritos that were on the menu were the same as the ones that were on the display at the gas station area were the same so I could take one of those instead, she responded with attitude and the lady who was making the food overheard and brought my burrito and shoved it in my hands and I was quickly dismissed. When I ate my burrito it was extremely greasy and small and I was overall disappointed. McDonalds has better breakfast burritos and service then this place."
"Great place! Someone bought a red bull for me here once I think. Cashier said I looked like Axl Rose; I don't see it but beauty is in the eye of the beholder! An acre is about the size of 2,787,840 dinosaur chicken nuggets to get an idea of the scale"
