"My lady and I just celebrated our 10th. I wanted her to pick the restaurant, and she chose The Max. I was pleasantly surprised. Modern decor, comfortable atmosphere, and a limited yet varied menu. Our appetizer, and our meals, were excellent. Our server was on top of things without being intrusive. My lady got into the music being played- a good mix of genres and artists. All in all, she made an excellent choice for our special dinner."
"I was staying at the hotel and decided to pick up food from Max. It was pretty busy, assuming maybe the start of the holiday season. The hostesses up front were nice enough and quickly took my order. I had planned to go to the bar and have a drink or two while I waited. While standing there, one bartender was making drinks in front of me and I just waited. He asked what I needed and I asked if he had a wine list, which he said yes. After that, he made drinks in front of me, walked by several times, but never any further acknowledgement, never any menu. Finally, a female bartender came up and got a menu for me. Unfortunately, she was so busy, she never came back. So I ended leaving the bar, never getting served, to go wait for my food. My food order was the Roasted Ginger Duck, which was actually really good and a large portion for duck. The broccolini and jasmine rice was also very good. Everything was well prepared. If I had to break up the review, I would give a 4.5 for the food, maybe 3.5 for the hostesses, and a zero for the bald bartender dude. It stinks that one bad server can mess up what was otherwise a good experience."
"Excellent restaurant for fancy dinners. The portions are large and the good has great flavors. Everything is made fresh and the presentations are appealing"
"This is a well preserved hotel with the vibe of the past. Comfortable beds, clean room and the food from the restaurant was really good but the catering for the event was subpar. I would for sure stay here if I returned to the area this place makes me want to film a movie from the 70βs here. The bartenders & front desk staff were really cool."
"Amber is such a compassionate and hardworking waitress. One of our orders came out wrong and she immediately knew and did everything she could to make it right. The wings were incredible. The rib eye steak came out perfectly, the Halibut was delicious and the chicken piscotta linguine was okay. The creme brule was fantastic and beautifully crafted. Amber deserves a raise!"
