"I was there on February 13 with my husband. The staff was wonderful, very professional, and very compassionate. My husband has health issues and they were very attentive to him very professional. I was understandably upset, and they took the time to try to console me while they worked on him. There was a woman brought in to the emergency room next to us, and she was quite belligerent. She screamed out racial slurs at the medical staff. She threatened the medical staff. The medical staff took care of her in a very professional manner. It became necessary to restrain her as she was actively threatening and lashing out at the medical professionals. I could hear her quite clearly from our room next to hers. The medical professionals at Bothwell hospital emergency room should be commended because they handled a very scary situation very well. They even came to our room and apologized to us for what that woman did, and I was very quick to tell them it was not their fault, and that they were the ones who were being harassed and threatened. She even tried to hit some of them. Bothwell hospital is a wonderful hospital with good employees. People should think and treat medical professionals with respect because all they’re trying to do is save our lives."
"Took my son for extreme abdominal pain. Took too long to be seen. Suppose to be seen based on severity of condition, but that's not the case. Came back 5 days later for dehydration, but the wait was too long so we went home. Later that night he started having severe pain again. Took him to ER and they were really busy so I took him to Warrensburg and he got right in. I will never go to Bothwell in Sedalia again. As I sit writing this, my son is in surgery for a perforated intestine and abcess that is life threatening. There is no excuse for Bothwell missing that on a CT scan. And no excuse for the lack of care and concern that he received."
"My girlfriend who is pregnant just recently visited and was there for over 6 hours without being seen all the while in immense pain they are supposed to see patients based on their pain level short staffing aside young children and pregnant women should be given priority over non emergency visits. If this ends up affecting our child in any way I will be pursuing legal action."
"This was my first time going to the Bothwell ER, and it will be my last. The wait time was unreasonable. Not just in the waiting room, the care, tests, and results. In fact, I had to sign into my patient portal to see the results! I had to beg for imaging because they wanted to leave it at blood and urine tests. The nurse never checked on me, and I had to poke my head in the hallway to get an update. The rudest part? The NP didn't even come talk to me about my test results, which showed there was something wrong with my liver...They didn't administer any medicine to me whatsoever, not even an Ibuprofen or Tylenol. Total time receiving no care there: 8 hours. Horrible."
"I had a family member in the ER today. I helped them get checked in then I had to leave due to their COVID protocols. I understand that. She gave me the number to the nurses station so I could call and check on her. After a few hours I called. The person that answered the phone told me that I was not on the list of people that could get information on them, BEFORE I EVEN TOLD THEM THE PATIENTS NAME! He took my name and number and said he would still have her give me a call. Two hours later, no call. So I call back two hours later. Told the person that answered the phone she was suppose to call me but hadn’t. She said “we’ve had many emergency’s today so she’s been busy.” I use to work at the hospital. So I completely understand. But you can’t take 2 minutes to call me and let me know how they’re doing? They’re not dieing so I guess the ER doesn’t care. Very displeased with them today"
