"Absolutely going to miss this clinic now that we are moved away. Sarah was so helpful with everything I needed to get my dog to Hawaii. She knew more about the process than I did, and was so patient during the whole thing! Helped me get all the necessary appointments and documents I needed to transport my dog. 10/10 recommend"
"About a month ago, my chiweenie puppy was completely paralyzed in her back legs. She had apparently ruptured a disc in her back. We were fully prepared to come in and have her put down. But Dr Wiseman gave us 3 options. A surgery we couldn't afford, put her on steroids to hopefully bring down the inflammation on her spinal cord, or euthanasia. We decided to try the steroids (he gave it maybe a 20% chance of working.) I am so glad we took his advice on trying them! She's not 100% back to being the vibrant, excitable, jumpy puppy she used to be, but she gets closer and closer with each day! We are now doing acupuncture to continue helping her get more function back and are super happy with how far she's come! So to both of the Dr Wiseman's, Rosie, Mom, and I say thank you!"
"I don’t recommend this office for anything other than routine checkups and super simple issues. They have proven to be greatly unhelpful and even indifferent with any complex problems. My cat became sick towards the end of 2021, beginning of 2022. She was sneezing, so I took her in and was told there was nothing to worry about and that she seemed perfectly healthy and likely just had a cold. The sneezing got better until about June of 2022, and then came back with additional symptoms (sniffly nose, eye discharge, coughing, lethargy, struggling to use the litter box, etc.) She was also noticeably skinnier. She was already skinny from when I had to put my other cat on a diet and switched both of them to scheduled feedings (per this vet’s recommendation). She was struggling to adjust to eating enough food twice a day instead of grazing. But now, she was almost refusing to eat her dry food (she would swallow instead of chew it), so I started giving her canned food as well. I took her to the vet again, and they still could not find what was wrong, aside from her having a fever. I told them about her eating habits (and that she was struggling to chew) but they blew me off and told me that was normal. After a week or so of her symptoms not getting better, I took her to the vet again and had some tests done. The receptionist recommended I do two sets of tests. When I asked her the price, she told me the one was about $50. I asked her what the cost of the other test was, and she said she wasn’t sure off the top of her head, but that it was about the same price. I was billed after the fact $200 for the second test. Definitely NOT similar in price. It almost seemed she had avoided giving me that information intentionally. Both the tests came back negative. The only thing they were able to find was that she was slightly anemic. They gave her an antibiotic shot for her cold symptoms, and gave me a prescription for more antibiotics. After this point, I switched her canned food and she seemed to be eating a lot more. I started to feel hope that she might be getting better. This didn’t last long. Within the following month, her legs started getting more and more weak and difficult for her to move. She had been a bit wobbly for a while, but I figured it was just from the lethargy or weakness from being anemic, but now it was becoming clear there was something wrong with her legs. They seemed to shift back and forth between being too stiff (not being able to bend at the joint) and not being stiff enough (not being able to stand). She’d been moving very strangely, and often times she would lay in place or fall over because of it. I called the vet again and explained what was happening. A cat not being able to walk should be INCREDIBLY alarming, however they didn’t even bother to set up an appointment with me. The lady just said “I’ll tell the doctor and we’ll have to get back with you” - I told her to please text me because I would be working until 5 (when they closed), and she just said “we’ll keep in touch”. I never heard back from them. At that point, I started looking for a different vet office. Thankfully, I was able to find one with a competent and caring vet, who IMMEDIATELY knew something was deeply wrong with her the second the vet saw her. She told me that my cat was in such poor health she could die literally at any moment and referred me to the pet hospital at the University in Columbia. She told me I should go there THAT SAME DAY. It was already 3pm when I had the vet appointment, and I barely made it to Columbia before the ER closed at 10pm It turns out she had cancer. CANCER. But by the time she was diagnosed, it was too late. They tried to treat her, but she passed a couple days later. I wonder if I could have saved her had she gotten the proper care in time. My advice: if you are needing legitimate help with a sick pet, avoid this place like the plague. They only do the bare minimum and have proven to be lazy and incompetent when it comes to anything above that."
