Reviews
"People tend to see the worst when you can't help them, and unfortunately, you can't help everyone. It makes me sad to see any bad review for a shelter whose sole purpose is helping the animals of its community. I commend Joplin Humane Society and everyone who works there. It is not a glamorous job, but we need you to do it. Thank you!"
"We brought our Dear departed Lab, Nick in to paws to heaven/Joplin Humane Society for cremation. I was explained a lovely program they have. Paw prints, nose print, hair and his ashes in a nice little wooden box with his name plate. We wasn't greeted in a very welcoming way in the back, on such a devastating time. Our furbaby had just died. She took our money, I asked about the paw prints and hair. She said only if we get time. All went well. We got everything we was hoping for. On the way out from dropping our Nick off. 2 dogs had escaped the fenced area in the back. We called to let them know, no answer. We drove around the front, a guy had already got one. We drove slowly to the main road, out of nowhere the dog was standing right next to our door. We opened our door but he darted right in the middle of main street. Hubby got out and the dog ran to him and jumped into the car. It was a precious looking dog. We took him back and had to knock on the door in the back for someone to get him."
"Utilized their spay and neuter services and have nothing but good things to say. Online scheduling incredible prices. Much respect for the employees and vets who setup and maintain this service for the community. Thank you all!"
"These people are truly the best! So many people use humane societies to dump their pets once they are no longer cute puppies/kittens anymore or even worse when they just get bored of the responsibility that comes along with pet ownership. These people work tirelessly to give back to the community and help as many pets as possible. With all of the shelters at max capacity, it is sad to see that some people don’t understand that they are doing everything possible with their limited resources. Anyways here is my pride and joy, my baby boy Wallace James"
"We recently lost one of our dogs. We took him to JHS to be cremated. The girls were so compassionate and understanding. They were so delicate with him. We went to the front office and they had kittens up there and my kids played with them for forever. They never once complained or told us to leave. My kids needed that. When we picked him up she handed him to us so gently and again told us she was so sorry. Thank you for your compassion and helping these animals."
