"My sister in law was placed here on hospice. Since being here the facility has taken outstanding care of her, as well as making sure ALL of the family needs have been met. They have made sure that my sister in law has not been suffering from any pain in her passing. The staff her has been wonderful in answering any questions the family has had. They have taken time to explain every aspect of her passing to the family. I would highly recommend alton memorial rehabilitation a nd therapy."

"This place is awful! Medical staff did not monitor my mom's vitals or bloodwork to check on kidney function. When Dr. Daniels saw results of her bloodwork he said she needed to go to the ER. By time she got to ER, her bp was 74/35. She died 6 hours later in the ER. Do not send your loved ones here!! She ended up with bedsores. She was left crying and miserable in her wheelchair. Could not get majority of staff to help or answer calls for assistance. I hold them responsible for my mother's death!"

"Beware of ratings ! You are given a list of Medicare ratings by social work to choose a rehab facility when your family member is ready for discharge. DO NOT be fooled by this. Check the Google ratings and tour the facility if possible. This facility is filthy and the care is minimal at best. My mom was there a week and we had her transferred. The call light can be on for 30-45 minutes so if your family member has any bladder control they won't for long ."

"My mom was there for a month. This facility appears to be seriously understaffed. Most of the staff were friendly, but patients waited endlessly for assistance. Those that didn’t ask, were mostly forgotten. The care was minimal. With all of the services and activities that the facility says they offer, I didn’t see any activities, or efforts to engage people in life. I’m horrified to see the way our most precious loved-ones are treated when they are at their most vulnerable."

"Do not send your family members here! Alton Memorial Hospital and Bethesda Medical Group should be completely embarrassed! Dirty, dark, old and unprofessional are the best words to describe this rehab and therapy location. 5 weeks of cold food! The daily meals are actually prepared at the hospital and transported by vehicle to this facility. By the time it’s delivered to the patient it is cold! 2 baths a week max if they can find the responsible personnel to do it. Push the button to get assistance with transferring from wheelchair to toilet and your loved ones will have to wait 45+ minutes so plan accordingly. Rarely was a receptionist at front desk so plan on letting yourself in with a code. The 5 handicapped parking places are usually full so plan on parking in rear and walking around. My 85 year old mother had to do it multiple times when she went to see my father. The beauty shop/barbershop is also closed so he never received a haircut either! The State of Illinois should close this place down. PT was the only department that seemed to care but you see them once a day. Research a better facility folks!"
