"For those with short attention spans: I'm educated, largely a DIY type, a father, and a part time stay at home dad who works very hard for his money and parts with it only when he feels it's buying quality. I recommend Rouse without reservation. In more depth: I STRONGLY recommend that you avoid instructing them in what solution you want and instead tell them your precise goals for your home, then let them tell you what solution you want. They will not yank you around on price and they will more than meet your expectations. I dealt with several individuals from this business. The one thing they all had in common was extreme professionalism and pride in their work. I've read some of the negative reviews they've gotten, and what I have to say in response is this: HVAC is expensive. It just is. And sometimes when a retrofit or new unit is required, it costs money. Rouse does more than any other local outfit I had price quotes from to ease that pain, but you will pay a premium to get equipment and skill that lasts. That's not new (at least in 7,000 recorded years of human history), and to get upset about it is just silly. Here's how they can help you the most: If you let them help you. I tried to approach Rouse with a solution I'd devised for my own house. Bad idea. I'm a good pharmacist, not so good with HVAC solutions. But Rouse is! Tim with Rouse knew more than I did (fancy that!) about his line of work, very honestly told me that he thought my solution for my house was not optimal, and after he got done walking me through a fix, I have a more reliable, better-warranted system that will cost me less to run, fix, and maintain. It is turn-key, was easily installed, and left me with several thousand more dollars than I thought I was going to have to spend to heat and cool my home efficiently. I also have expanded options for cost-effective comfort options going forward that my solution would not have provided. I consider myself a bit of a DIY type and I will tell you there is no duct work I've seen that begins to compare with Rouse. Theirs approaches a work of art. I would have felt silly calling duct work art, but I promise you theirs is ridiculously beyond what's necessary to move air efficiently, and yet it is quoted at less than many other businesses in the area. Lower cost, better product, and tremendous skill. They are prompt, courteous, polite, and utterly professional. I am a busy man and I trusted them on multiple occasions in my home without anyone present. They pointedly asked if they could use some of my tools (which were right in their work area) and touched nothing else. You can trust them implicitly. As I've aged I've learned that of all the knowledge in the world, some of the most precious is where to find skill when you need it. Rouse made that list with ease."
