"Dr. Hartmann should truly consider retiring. He is one of those dinosaurs that refuses to evolve in ideas concerning treatment. If you have pcos, please-run as far as you can from this joke of a bedside manner. I was told to “stop eating so much” and compared to his cattle. He at no point asked after my diet. When I left this joke, and found a doctor who actually listened and wasn’t lazy, I was treated for the issues I had, and found success-my pcos has improved, and I’ve lost 76 lbs. no thanks to Dr. Hartmann and his harmful philosophy. I am filing with the state medical board, but cannot in good conscious not warn anyone with actual health issues requiring understanding and attention to see this sham. The corporate health systems do their best to protect men like this because the believe the potential income they could make for the organization outweighs the damage they do to a patient every now and again. This man is beyond that value. Lose the liability, SSM"

"Never had a problem with this office until recently. Struggled for years to get pregnant, found out i was pregnant then I lost it. While all this is happening no one could even be botherd to call me back. Left messages, called multiple times and was completely blown off. They tried to even pawn me off on my PCP which they told me was an OBGYN matter. No one tried to get me bloodwork ordered or bothered to tell me what was going on with me over the phone as im in tears because I waited 13 years to see a positive pregnancy test and I was loosing it. So disappointed with ssm and this office."

"I arrived for my 3:30 appointment at 3:15 as recommended. The receptionist and Cheyenne were accommodating. Not until I completed paperwork and was escorted to a waiting room was I informed that my scheduled doctor was out of the office. During my wait Dr. Shannon entered my room interrogating me with very condescending questions and statements about my knowledge as a patient. Very unwelcoming for my first visit. After 30 minutes of waiting with no ETA update I was asked if I wanted to reschedule. I took off work and was prompt for this appointment, so I waited patiently. When Dr. Shepard arrived at 4:15 PM, she attempted to reprimand me for my frustration in their lack of communication. She offered no apology for her late arrival and I was met with aggression. Still, I wanted to continue the service that I needed desperately but she was hostile and threatened to not accept me as a new patient because I questioned the staff about procedures. I was belittled by the very health professionals that were supposed to make me feel welcomed. It was the most traumatizing experience as a new resident to St. Louis. I hope no one else is subjected to this treatment. She all but kicked me out of her office with no attempt to schedule a follow up appointment. She pointed me toward the exit and closed her office door without so much as a goodbye. I regret compromising my health by choosing to discontinue care, but I do not feel safe at SSM Kirkwood."

"I had my first visit with Dr. Shepherd a few days ago and the experience was amazing. Dr. Shepherd took the time out to meet with me first in her office to get to know my history then from there she address my concerns. I truly felt like my concerns were being heard and not ignored. Dr. shepherd gave me exceptional care and I would recommend her to anyone. She is truly a great doctor"

"Dr. Hartman has been my doctor for over 20 years. He delivered both my children and still takes care of me. His directness and his empathy have been invaluable. I think the world of him and his knowledge, skills and ability to connect and understand. He cares deeply about his patients. Cara Scahgeman also sees me and she is a great addition to the practice. She took time to get to know me and talk through current issues. She is knowledgeable and thoughtful and always follows up. I trust her to make sure everything is taken care of before, during and after the visit. Wonderful group of caregivers all around. Great practice!"
