"I would rate this company as NEGATIVE 10 STARS. I'm writing this on behalf of my husband. His retirement account through his workplace was moved to Merrill Lynch. When his account was set up, he gave investing instructions and the initial amounts were invested properly. But after that, everything he contributed and everything his employer contributed were put into a cash account! NOT INVESTED! For over 2 1/2 years! He was unaware of this. He just thought the investment was doing poorly. When informed of the situation by Barbara Hughes, the money was then invested. But Ms. Hughes told my husband that he would have to "bear some of the responsibility" since he did not bring it to their attention. However, she did not take ANY responsibility for this failure. She let him take ALL the responsibility. My husband is not an investment expert. They were supposed to be, and he trusted them. According to Ms. Hughes, when his account was set up, it was not set up properly. At least one other person he worked with also had the same problem, so more than one account was improperly set up. We are sickened by this failure. We lost over 2 1/2 years of investment opportunity that we will not get back. We lost the shares we would have had, and we lost investment income. This company and this situation needs to be investigated. I know they have insurance for events such as this, and I know it was within their power to make this situation right. But they did not. They NEED to make this right!"
